Five years on....

Gemma's POV

I wopke up to my alarm and moaned, i hit the snooze button and got up, i looked at Mads who was sleeping peacefully, i walked over and kissed her head and i saw her smile "morning!" i said and she smiled more " morning!" she said and i laughed a bit. I got into the shower and got dressed into my work clothes, i walked into Scotts room " smelly time to get up!" i said and he moaned " mum its to early!" he said but still lying face down on his bed "yes we get it your a hormonal teenager who has to get up before twelve in the afternoon now come on!" i said and he groaned and got up, i laughed a bit and went to Oscars room " sweetie time to get up!" i said and he shifted " come on sleepy head!" i said and he sat up and rubbed his eyes, he laughed " what?" i asked and he shook his head " nuffin!" i laughed and went to the kitchen to see Mads there with the post in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other " hey anything good?" i asked and she blanked me "earth to Maddy!" i said walking over to her, i looked at what she was looking at and it was a letter but she was staring at the logo, it was HMP, meaning Her Majestys Prisons, she looked at me and i shrugged, i took the letter and opened it.

Scott and Oscar came through dressed and talking and sat at the table and got some ceral " morning mum!" Oscar said and Mads laughed a bit " morning sweetie!" she said, she turned to Scott who looked like he could sleep again " you like your bed dont you?" she asked and he nodded " schools like prison!" he said and i laughed a bit " yes Scott say that to two teachers!" he laughed a bit and started eating his ceral. I went and sat at the table and started reading the letter, when i read it i was shocked, so shocked i sprayed my orange juice out. Oscar laughed and Scott did two and Mads just stared at me but she was wanting to laugh " something shocking?" Scott asked and i nodded "my dads been released from UK prisons to American prisons!" i said and Mads sprayed her juice out and i laughed "shocking!" i said and she shook her head.

"what you mean?" asked Scott and i looked at the letter " well he did his time for the drugs but the American goverment wants him to do his attempted murder charge over here!" he nodded " is it safe?" Mads asked and i nodded " apperently since the accident he's been taking medicne and has been on best behaviour list!" she nodded, i looked at the other letter which i hadnt looked at and i looked at it shcoked " whats that one about?" Mads asked and i showed her and cleared up my mess and she laughed a bit " what you gonna do?" she asked and i shrugged " someone enlighten me?" Scott asked and i laughed a bit " he wants to meet me, of course with a copper there!" he shook his head " he's mad!" and i  nodded " both with thoughts and literly!" Oscar laughed, i looked at my watch "school time people!" i said and they all moaned and i laughed.

I was at the cafe with my friends from school, we meet up quite regularly and we bring our kids and they all are friends and our partners come along to and we have a real laugh. We were talking about our songs and laughing at the attention we got at school " oh remember after the halloween disco people put posters and everything up around the school with our band name on it!" we all laughed and nodded. I looked over at the kids table and Mark had a son Scotts age and a daughter Jess' age, Oscar talked to Jaz's daughter, Lisa who was a year older than him and Josh who was his age. Jess had just completed a four year degree in law and had started her job last month, we were proud of her because she would always say she was giving up but she stuck in at it.

" so Gem do you still write songs?" asked Markus, Jaz's husband, i nodded " the odd time!" Mads looked at me " really" she asked and i nodded " you dont see them though!" she shook her head and the others laughed, at that point Oscar came up to me " hey mum, ice-cream!" i stared at him and we both smiled we turned to Mads " please,please,please,please,please?" we asked her and she shook her head " fine the-" we stopped her " WHOO!" we said together and me and Oscar rushed to the top counter "okay so we going with the best?" i asked and he shook his head " no you want taste, you want to enjoy it!" i nodded " agreed, right how about vanila, choc chip and chocolate?" i asked and he shook his head " to much green, how about strawberry, vanila and chocolate?" he asked and i shook my head " take away the strawberry and put in..." i thought about it " the oreo!" i said and he nodded, we high-fived and i got our order, i gave him, his and he went back to his seat. I walked back to my friends who were staring at me "every time!" Mads said and they shook there heads.
