XXXVI. LOVE

my vivid imagination
serves me a phantasy
of sleeping forever, not so much
a sleeping beauty
as a tragedy
and i feel my claws soften under your weight;
i feel my eyes mellow under the day
and i find nails trailing you
when night descends: the beer garden
and the monster in it
turned me to cloud
and 4 minutes ago you
might have been here beside me
to watch my mouth slacken
under a dream of you:
here beside me;
and i slip your socks off
and undo the lace of my ankles
and feel my tendons splay --
i drew down Blue Moon
like no tomorrow
and swallowed a cigarette
like there was nothing
and climbed those pillars of stars
like they were anything --
but you.
i slide my trousers off
and undo my bows
and feel my untouched thighs --
i unravel plaits
and pass scars,
as though they were nothing
and all the time
think of your body like mine
and the gold sky
of my childhood, only
ribbons of cumulus
accumulating on my doorstep --
and sitting when it was raining
the wet lavender
and raindrop bees
catching my very heels
and you behind each ponderance,
each thought, each dream,
us sucking ice cream
in the rain;
sobbing when you hurt me
and untying my shins
and clouding each tear --
but you were there
to cast away each fear:
your flesh and bone
cutting and melding through mine.

 i slide my trousers off and undo my bows and feel my untouched thighs --i unravel plaits and pass scars,as though they were nothing and all the time think of your body like mine and the gold skyof my childhood, only ribbons of cumulus accumulatin...
