and all these girls
with their anorexic smiles
make me smile --
we're one and the same
in this and that way.and i know
whatever bad i do
that they are here with me.and i smile
at the shine of my spine
when in the fading light
we hold each other's hands
and she sings;don't worry, my baby's
fine in the sordid moonlight --
and we're all sunken in tears
in this and that wayand i stagger on my bruises
sutures that have the hue of infection --
i feel feminine arms around me
and see our bones sticking
through us and the scaffolding
of ribs that disjoint --and we sway, there is no shame
in our empty mouths;
there is no shame about our skeletal
cheeks that blush violent blue
