His Return

Chapter 10

"So today is the day that my journey to the Kalos League starts." Ash pumped the air with his fist as the group worked on towards the Santalune City Gym.

"Yeah, and hopefully this time you win the league so I can challenge you properly for once." Leaf smirked, to which she got a death stare.

They had been awake for around an hour and a half by this point, so there were a couple of yawns along the way.

"Do you know why the gym even is, Ash?" Serena asked her boyfriend.

"No clue. Of course I don't."

"Huh?" The rest of the group around him moaned.

"I figure out stuff best when I run." He said as stood up with one foot on a fountain while pointing with his index finger on his right arm, which was pointing out towards some buildings in the distance, with Pikachu doing the same on his shoulder.

"And when has that ever worked?" Gary sarcastically asked.

"It worked when we were 7, or otherwise I wouldn't have met my beautiful future wife." Ash smirked as he wrapped his arms around Serena from behind.

They soon kept on going until they came to an art gallery, that had the Pokémon Gym logo sign outside of it.

"This must be the place then." Leaf commented, as the other nodded in agreement.

"It certainly is, Champion of Kanto." A male voice came from behind them, and that voice belonged to Calem. "Hey guys."

Serena rushed over to him, and gave him a cuddle as she burrowed her head into his chest.

"I'm so sorry about what happened in the past, I hope you can forgive me, I..I..I.." She panicky shouted as she started to hyperventilate and struggle to get her words out.

"Serena, calm down sis. That was the past, we are going into the future. I am sorry too, but together we will build better bonds and make up for lost time. Alright?" Calem said as he shook her a little to iterate his point.

"Yes. We will do that. Starting with you coming to watch this." She smiled as she dragged him along. He shook everyone's hand, and then they advanced into the gym.

"Hello! I'm here for a gym battle!!" Ash shouted with his hands around his mouth as his calls echoed off of the empty walls.

"It probably wasn't the best time to come first thing on a Sunday morning to be honest Ash." Dawn weakly smiled. She had been itching to see another one of his battles.

"Yeah, that's true." He softly said in sadness. "Lets get going, we'll come back tomorrow."

"Wait a minute!" A female scream was heard by everyone who immediately turned back on their heels. A fair skinned, blonde haired female with green eyes wearing a white combat vest, brown cargo cut offs and hiking boots propped herself up against the wall, as her camera that was around her neck swayed side to side. "Sorry I took so long, I was printing off some new photos for the gym. I'm Viola, the Santalune City Gym leader. It's a pleasure to meet you all." She said.

"Don't worry Viola, it's no problem. I'm Ash, and this is my partner Pikachu." Ash scratched the underside of Pikachu's chin as he did it.

"I'm Leaf. I'm Ash's twin sister, and Champion of Kanto." Leaf was about to make a small bow, but she was actually the recipient.

"My gosh. I am so sorry champion, you must accept my apology." Viola bowed.

"Don't worry about it. As long as Ash gets a good fight, I'm fine." She smiled back.
