Ch. 3
The rest of my story doesn't exactly begin out of nowhere. Let me add some stuff that I forgot first. After the devastating miss, me crying in Phil's arms, it sort of went downhill. I didn't feel as though I was ever going to get a chance to go back. I didn't use my sight as I sat in my room, didn't play my violin or tell other agents of my stories. There was no point in it anymore.
I couldn't feel an uncertain connection to the bifrost anymore as though it disappeared. Barton and Romanoff didn't bother me, they knew I wanted to be left alone. All I would do all day was stare at a wall. The blankness that would remind me of reality. Fury tried to get me back into the field I never really went into. He told me that doing stuff will help me get my mind off of my loss, but everything I did made me remember Asgard more. It was like a timeless curse.
Many Agents sort of forgot about me. I heard rumors as I wandered the halls from time to time. Barton got relocated to some assignment, I didn't search for him, saw no point to do so. Romanoff went off on her own. I didn't know what she did outside of SHIELD. Phil was still around, he wandered from HQ to the place where Barton was and wherever else Fury needed him. It was hard, not seeing the only friends I had on this world, yet pushing them away at the same time.
Ok, so back to main story, Fury decided to show up this one time to my room. He, himself, came to visit me. It's usually some kind of call down to his office or something, but apparently not this time. He came and sat at the edge of my bed and said, "For however long this is gonna take, I want you to stay in here and don't leave."
"Why?" I asked completely not interested.
"This is of highest security matter and you will pay attention."
"Fine. What is this high security matter?"
"Can't say. Just whatever happens, you will stay here."
"I'm not a child. I think we've gone over this many times before."
"And that is exactly why you will stay here." At that point, Fury just left without another word. I could hear the lock on my door shut. I thought about pounding on the door but that would have been no use whatsoever. I also thought about spying on Fury but I wasn't interested. The days just felt like the days when I first came here.
Memories came to mind. The funny memories with Howard and Peggy came first. The times of when I first came to Earth. It was fun learning about this new world through their eyes. But the bad memories came all too quickly. First came Howard beginning to draw further and further away. Maria being pregnant with her first child, she was so happy but when Tony was finally born, it was almost as though he had no father, only two mothers. But he was still brilliant, successful Tony. Maybe if he would have remembered me, then I would have not been here. Maybe I would have had a room in his home in Miami, or even the Stark Tower. Maybe if Thor...
The tears easily came and I didn't stop them. There was no point to it anyway. The night grew closer and closer and I cried myself to sleep.
"You have no idea what you're dealing with." Said a strong voice.
"Um... Shakespeare in the park?" Said a rather quirky voice dripping with sarcasm. "Does mother know you weareth her drapes?"
The faces became more recognizable. It was Thor and Tony. Thor had enough of the foolishness and the right began. It was all a dream, I told myself. I knew it was a dream, I remembered going to sleep, well, sort of. But I was in my room at HQ. I definitely fell asleep on my bed.
I pinched myself to wake myself up. The first thing I realized was the cold, dirt-smelling ground I lay upon. My eyes slowly opened to find a dark forest. But the trees were all bent downwards as though something tremendous knocked them all down.
