Chapter 4

I parallel park my car near Hailey's driveway; only three other cars are occupying the driveway and the rest of the front of the big house.

I grab my phone out of the cupholder and get out of the car, shutting the door behind me.

Walking up to the front door, I straighten out my shirt. It has somewhat a tie-dye design on it; it's really a shirt I just threw on before leaving my house accompanied by a regular pair of jeans and boots.

I straighten the beanie on my head and ring the doorbell. I don't know what to expect.

Chase, Hailey's ex boyfriend, opens the door. "Hey Isabella." he greets me and holds his arm out for a hug which I awkwardly accept.

"Uh, where's-" I start to say, but then Jessica interrupts me as she runs downstairs. "Bella!" she yells, pushing Chase to the side and attacking me with a hug.

"Jess!" I yell and hug her back.

"Where's Hailey?" I ask. "She's upstairs." Chase answers. I nod and start walking up the stairs to the loft, where everyone is hanging out.

The tv is on as everyone in the room continues to chat and play around. It looks like Justin, Chase, Jessica, Marie, and me are the only ones here. Then I look around the room one more time only to spot the infamous curls that make my heart pound when I see them.

"Why did no one tell me Harry would be here?" I ask Jessica quietly. She smirks and walks away from me to socialize with Hailey.

I roll my eyes and decide to take matters into my own hands.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, sitting next to him on the couch. "Enjoying the party," he answers, "This is barely a party, though."

"Well, it is just a small get together."I shrug and Chase taps me on the shoulder, offering me a Coca Cola. I accept his offer and smile at him as he walks off.

Jessica and Justin are getting cozy on the floor, leaning against the loveseat, cuddling. I envy them, really. Even though they are not in a relationship, they still treat each other like they are. They take it slow and are loyal to each other. That's what love is about. Waiting until you find the perfect one for you, and when you do, you don't rush into things.

Not that I would know what love is about.

I've been sitting on the couch for almost an hour and a half, playing on my phone and occasionally talking to Marie or Hailey and Jessica.

Chase sits on one side of me and Harry on the other. It's getting a bit awkward and I am about ready to get up and sit somewhere else. Chase sits a bit too close to me and I am growing impish.

Harry leans closer to me and I squirm a bit. I take a sip of my soda and put it on the coffee table.

"You look bored." he remarks. "It's cause I am." I reply.

"Why?" Chase asks and Harry almost glares at him as if saying, 'you weren't in this conversation; leave now.'

Chase uncomfortably smiles and gets up.

"There's not much to do." I shrug.

"Do you like party games darling?" he asks and I smile at the word 'darling.'

"What are you thinking about?" he questions me and pokes my one dimple.

I hope I'm not blushing right now.

"Nothing. I just don't have anything interesting to entertain me." I reply.

"We'll see about that." Harry whispers as he puts his hand on mine 'accidentally' while getting off the couch.

He gets up and walks to the center of the room.

"Guys, I'm bored," he announces loudly, " let's play seven minutes in heaven." Harry suggests with a raise of his eyerows.

Everyone in the room agrees with Harry's suggestion and I start towards the stairs. "No way, goodbye, I'm leaving!" I yell. Chase gets up, pulls my arm and makes me sit down next to him on the floor.

I feel somewhat uncomfortable around Chase, like he's trying to flirt with me or get in my pants or something.

I need to stop being so timid, he's just being a good friend.

I tune out everything when I hear my name being called suddenly. "Bella and Harry!" Jessica yells excitedly and I'm confused.

"What's happening?" I ask loudly. "You have to spend 7 minutes in the closet with Harry." Hailey explains and my heart pounds in my chest.

"Oh." I reply with nothing else to say.

"Well get to it!" Marie giggles and I flick her off. Harry smirks and puts his arm around my shoulder.

"This is going to be an interesting seven minutes in heaven, Miss Collins." he says, closing the closet door behind me and I hear everyone in the room outside the closet say 'Oooh!'

"Shut up."

***

It's three minutes in and I swear this closet is getting more humid and hot by the second. "So..." I start, "It's pretty dark in here." I reach around for a light switch and find one by the door, flicking it on.

"No," he says, reaching across me, switching it off, "it's better off."

I look up at him questionably and even the light from under the door can make his eyes glisten.

"You know, it is seven minutes of heaven," he reminds me, "we may as well make the best of it."

"Well talking really isn't heavenly is it?" I comment.

"Then let's not talk at all." he says and my mouth feels dry. It's not, but it feels dry.

"What do you mean?" I ask innocently.

"Shh." he shushes me and steps closer, our bodies almost touching. I take two steps back, running into the wall as he takes two forward.

"You know what I mean." he smirks and one dimple pokes through his cheeks.

And that's when he kisses me. He actually kisses me. Something that I thought would never happen in a million years, is happening right before my eyes.

I'm too shocked to kiss him back. He pulls away and looks at me. "Snap out of it." he whispers and a shiver rakes through my body.

He kisses me again and this time I move my mouth against his. I push my hands into his hair as he places his arms around my waist. I never thought it would be so sweet, kissing Harry, the boy I've liked for so long; the player.

The player. This wont even matter to him later. He'll forget about it, or won't even care and pretend like it never happened. This is his little game.

I push him off of me and swing the closet door open, the feeling of his lips still lingering on mine. All attention is directed toward me and I try to keep tears from falling. "Bella, it's only been six minutes and 12 seconds." Hailey informs me, looking at the timer on her phone. I storm down the stairs and out of the house.
