John Stephen's POV

I walked around the costume room looking at all of the cool things when I stumbled across the makeup area. I never really understood makeup, why someone would want to paint all of that on their face was beyond me. Not to mention, I think most girls look better without it. As I looked around I found a large mirrors area with a few different vanities. Each one had a bench big enough for two people and on one of the benches I found Summer.

And Baylor.

Kissing...

Summer's POV

I pulled away from Baylor and felt a small smile on my face. I sat back on the bench slightly, and that's when I saw him. "John, its not-" I started to say before he stopped me. "If you're going to say 'its not what it looks like.' then don't worry about it. Its fine." he said before walking back the way I assume he came from. "John!" I shouted after him. I looked at Baylor. "I'm sorry. I can't let him run off like that." I said before running after John Stephen.

"John? John Stephen?" I shouted as I finally got out of the costume room. I found him walking swiftly up the aisle to the exit of the theatre. "John, stop." I said, just loud enough for him to hear. He turned to me, I could see the disappointment in his eyes. "Look, Summer. I really like you. But if you don't feel the same that's fine. I understand." he said. "But I do fee-" "But the least you could do is tell me to my face instead of pretending and then kissing one of my best friends." he finished before storming off, out of the theatre.

Lacey's POV

Me and Cole were wandering around the costume room when we heard some shouting. I followed the sound, Cole close behind me. I found Baylor sitting alone on a bench in the vanity area. "Hey, what's going on?" I asked him. He turned and his face was red. "What's wrong?" I asked, sitting on the bench near him. He shook his head. "I kissed Summer." he said quietly. My eyes widened. "And John Stephen saw us." he finished.

Oh. No. I ran out of the costume room and found Summer standing in the middle of the aisle, as if she were waiting for something to happen that would change the obviously saddening events that had just happened. "Summer?" I said. She turned when she heard my voice and I saw her eyes beginning to fill with gleaming tears. I quickly ran down the steps from the stage and hugged her tight.

"I didn't mean to upset him. I just got caught up in the moment, how was I supposed to know he was there. Lacey, what do I do?" she asked, her voice slightly muffled as she mumbled into my shoulder. I rubbed her back as she continued hugging me.

"I'm not sure there's anything you can do now, Summer." I said, trying not o cry at the sight of her tears. I hated when people cried. Expecially if it was someone I genuinely care about. And it was even worse with Summer. Her tears were contagious, just like her laughter. And I wasn't sure I could handle both of us crying.

"I'm sure he'll come back soon, Summer. Son't worry." I told her. At least I hoped he would.
