Lindsey's progress with therapy began to improve, his legs still wobbly but there was light at the end of the tunnel, Stevie taking full control of his well being out of the hospital. He was released in to her care, his son having packed him a bag of personal belongings from home, Kristen not at all interested in assisting any longer. The fact that he wanted out of their marriage was a low blow in her opinion, having begged him not to separate but he didn't want to hear it, Stevie and him had to reconcile and this coma had only showed him how precious their last days could be.
Entering Stevie's condo, Lindsey wheeled himself in through the door, Lily jumping up on to his lap to greet him as he gave her loving strokes. "Hey, girl! Oh, do you remember me?" laughing as she wagged her tail, panting with excitement. She jumped off of Lindsey's lap to run around Stevie in circles, Stevie chuckling as she made sure to give her pup a loving pat.
Watching every move that Stevie made, Lindsey processed all of her beauty, grinning as she took a second to primp her hair in the hall mirror. She made eye contact with him and smiled, turning around to place a hand on the back of his head, leaning over to place a soft kiss to his lips.
"I love you so much," spoke Lindsey, a tear in his eye, looking up at her as she cocked her head to the side.
"Baby, I love you just as much," stroking the side of his face with her knuckles.
"You said it; you saved me," that tear now rolling down his cheek.
"What?"
"The beneficial sacrament; it was you, angel, your kiss on my lips was all that was needed to save me. I saw my mother when I had that seizure, almost dying, she told me that it wasn't time for me yet but I didn't have much time - that you had to kiss me. You did, Stevie, you finally kissed me and with all of the ways I tried to get your attention... you did it on your own, you somehow deep down knew that you had to kiss me."
"Something inside of me couldn't keep from doing it, almost like a natural instinct, and my God am I glad that I did!" holding his face in her hands as she began to cry. "I almost lost you, Linds, and I thought it was our last moment together..." letting her tears fall down her beautiful porcelain face. "You are my everything, do you hear me?" caressing his cheeks with her thumbs. "My everything," whispering.
"And you are mine, Stephanie, my everything," looking up at her with the same passion, the same romance.
She ran her hands over the back of his head, running her fingers through his hair, cradling his head to hold it against her chest. "I promise to take care of you, to never let you down again."
"Baby, you have never let me down; you've broken my heart but never let me down."
"And I am so sorry, Linds; so sorry for breaking that heart."
"Just love me, angel, love me for the rest of your life."
"I will, I have, and I did."
Lindsey tangled his fingers with hers, giving both hands a kiss, moving his thumbs across her knuckles. "Likewise, my darling."
His words played with the pit of her desire, leaning over to kiss him again, feeling his hands take residence against her thighs. She made it deeper, hotter, brushing tongues while his palms now took the curve of her bottom. It overall gave her excitement, the room suddenly warmer, breaking the kiss as she could tell he was just as hot.
"You stay here, I'm going to bring your bag to my bedroom, then maybe we can have a drink together."
"Whatever gets me out of this chair."
