With Stevie's persistence, Lindsey was able to gain full strength back to his arms and legs, no longer using the wheelchair and walking as if nothing had ever come upon him. She forced him to walk everyday and though there were times when he would detest, she'd remind him of everything that they'd faced, and the love she promised to bring with the vow of his last name.
Lindsey's divorce was rough, the tabloids picking up on it in a nasty way, making Stevie almost look like the Angelina Jolie in the Brad Pitt sense. It made Stevie feel incredibly sad, very hurt in many unappreciative ways, though Lindsey could always make her feel better. He went public several times on his undying love for her, speaking of how he'd never stopped loving Stevie, that his family was important but seeing his own life flash in front of his eyes - he couldn't let another day pass without marrying the love of his life.
Stevie continued to put all of her new material together for the new Mac album, it no longer being just Buckingham Mcvie, but a full on Fleetwood Mac LP. She felt so much inspiration and light that there was no way she could not record something new to add to the 12 track record, still believing that sales would not be as prominent as back in the day but this was her promise as Lindsey lay in the coma.
Their wedding was joyous with only close family and friends, no press involved, just a beautiful ceremony at a secluded private beach house in Malibu.
The second Lindsey saw Stevie walking down the isle of stepping stones on the sand, he cried his joy, his love for the woman before him. Her dress flowed around her but was not long enough to hit the white sand below, made of white chiffon and Swarovski crystals, hair curled and crimped with a white hibiscus flower.
She smiled through her own tears, clutching on to the bouquet of white roses that had a shimmer effect from the few crystals adorned. Stevie had felt her own knees wobbling, almost as if she was Lindsey when recovering from his coma, but this was plainly adrenaline. Never in her life did she believe to ever be married again and here she was standing with the man that taught her all about love, what it was like to be in love, and still be.
He could see her smile through the white lace veil pinned to the top of her head, taking both of her hands after handing her bouquet to Lori, rubbing the tops of her fingers with his through her white lace gloves. "You're beautiful," he'd said, sniffing as a few stray tears curved around his nose.
His words made her flush, dropping her lashes, blinking up at him as the sound of the waves couldn't keep his attention from his bride. "I love you," she'd responded, still glued to him as the ceremony started.
Once their vows began, Lindsey knew that Stevie would have a long script rehearsed, hoping that it wouldn't drabble to the point the audience would be bored.
"All these years we've been ablsolutely crazy," Stevie had stated. "Who knew that two kids with a dream would end up losing all faith in each other, be able to create such intellect on a stage, put on a show then go back to their own lives - would be standing here together right now. I've never stopped loving you, Lindsey, and I hate the fact that you thought I had... It was never true, my love, never. I'd become so wrapped up in my career, in what I felt I was brought here to do, that I let you slip away," taking Lindsey's face in to her hands, knowing he was about to cry again. "You've always been the only one, him, my heart and soul."
Having explained more of their history, of their past, then present, she took a promise to never let any of their simple disagreements keep them from loving each other. Stevie vowed that her love for him would always thrive, keeping her alive until her last breath, to be his muse in return.
"You were never not my muse," Lindsey had inquired, starting his vows. "I've let my whole world fall apart on and off just to be with you, to be near you. I needed you every day, every night, never not needing you. I searched for the right woman over and over again, never not falling out of love with you..." having stopped to bite back the tears of past heartbreak. "Everything that I've done, created, has been for you and about you. Not one line of poetry do I not relate to you, to be reminded of everything beautiful that you are, Stephanie."
He had went on to explain his tragic downfall with out her, seeing her with other men, then dodging death. For him to not reconcile and be with the woman that he truly loved was insanity, not something he would ever want to live with out again, showing that love physically with the kiss from his lips.
Stevie's eyes were almost a lighter brown as he'd lifted the veil, looking over her haunting face that left an imprint in his brain. Her lashes were long and flowing, beautiful smokey black eyes, red lips that drove him wild. How could he ever live with out such a woman at his side? All he wanted now was to wake up with her in his arms, to never be more than a call away.
Their love was sealed.
