Gemma POV

Gemma appeared at camp. Peter looked up at her, surprised.

"How--"

"Shut up. Do you really think Neverland would keep me stranded? She's been teaching me her secrets. Would you like to know why I even had to materialize? Because that witch bitch tried to get my pendant again. But it's okay because I can take care of myself."

She turned around and walked towards her tree before placing her palm on it causing the door to open. Gem walked down the steps and into her secret room. The room was brighter so she assumed it was a bewitchment that had to do with the time of day. Gem sat down at her desk. Her hair was still wet and she was sure it would tangle but she didn't care. She pulled out a piece of parchment and a fountain pen that Neverland had provided her. She placed her pen to the paper and began writing. The longer she wrote, the more intense everything became. Gem was writing violently and tears were pouring down her face. She wrote of how she wished her father never died, that she knew her mother, how much she missed Geffy, how the witch was trying to steal the hart of Neverland. She wrote of Peter. Eventually the page was full and her head was lying on the desk, and she was sobbing. She fell asleep that way, and Neverland whispered to her again.

Peter POV

Peter was speechless as Gem was telling her everything. She then stormed off and placed her hand on the tree and...walked into it? No, inside it? He stood up and walked to the side but Gem wasn't there. Peter was able to see a door fading away on the tree trunk.

"Neverland is really taking care of her."

Peter snapped his head towards Felix. "To be honest, I figured she would."

Felix nodded and walked towards Jonathan. Peter sneered at him and then walked over to his own tree home. He wished he could go to his tree but the odds of Esmerelda being there were too high. Everyone knew the tree was Peter Pan's. He walked inside and through his arms behind him so that another shield could encase his home. She had a fire in her eyes. They looked so alive. With hate. I can't let that happen to her. She's too pure with love. Peter's eyes shot open wide.

"ESMERELDA. She's trying to turn Gem dark!"

Gemma POV

Gemma was in a field, wearing a silver gown. There were snowdrops covering the ground and the sky was full of bipolar clouds. A sliver mist in the silhouette of a person was a couple feet away.

Gemma, you must learn your offenses.

Its voice sounded like a thousand children.

I know. Please, teach me.

The silver mist approached her and walked inside of her. Gemma fell forward as the power adapted to her body. She let out a scream--

Gemma woke up and could see a light blue light coating her skin, as well as a thin layer of sweat. She imagined she really did scream and she laid her head back on the desk. A dull ache was still in the pit of her stomach. She hated that part. The pain afterwards. Gemma got up and walked to her bed.

"I wish I had a secret spring in here."

Just then a sound of running water came from behind a tapestry. Gem laughed and pulled back the tapestry to see a hot spring in her home. It was beautiful. It even had its own sky. There were hares running around and deer, wolves, birds, bears, all together in harmony. Gem could feel her eyes tearing up. She undressed and walked into the water. She could feel the hot water loosening her muscles. Gem relaxed into the water. A hare walked up next to her and sniffed her head. She smiled and scratched him behind the ears. He began kicking his right leg.

"I'm going to name you Thumper."

Gem kissed his nose before giving him a piece of lettuce that she Imagined in her hand. She sunk back into her bath and let her thoughts fade away. This was her sanctuary and she wasn't going to let anything ruin it.

Peter POV

Peter was lying on his bed, throwing a ball up in the air when he heard Gem scream. He caught the ball and stared up at the ceiling. He was about to go and check on her when something was telling him not to. He threw the ball across the room.

"Fucking Neverland."

Gemma POV

She had changed and was sitting on a moss-covered rock. Animals were all around her. She was petting a bear cub while a fox was sitting on her lap and Thumper was standing with his paws resting on her knee. She smiled at the moment for it was simply impossible, but Neverland was Neverland. Her pendant was warm and she could feel its pulse more. She figured it was because of the animals. Gemma sighed after a while. She picked up the fox and put him on the ground. Thumper came down and allowed her to stand.

"I'll see you guys, later." She smiled at them and walked through the tapestry wall.

Gem ran up the stairs and walked through the door that materialized. Felix was making lunch. He looked up to see her feeling better. He smiled and leaned his chin foreword in a greeting. Gem smiled back and waved before sitting with Jonathan. Felix walked over with their food.

"Fish? Oh, my gosh! It's not soup!"

"Shut up." Felix smiled, handing her the plate.

Gem took the plate and began eating.

"The food is yummy, Mama."

Jonathan burst out laughing, food sprayed out of his mouth. Felix lightly pushed Gem, they were all laughing. Peter came out and saw that they were enjoying themselves. Gemma caught his eye and smiled. Peter turned and walked to check on the Deathshade. She turned back to Felix, still smiling, but could feel the pain that began to ease back into her again. She grabbed her pendant and felt the pulse, falling back into her blocked, hard state of mind.
