"I'm so sorry I'm late" Gakupo panted as he reached his boyfriend who was sat in front of the statue of the star crossed lovers.
Kaito loved that statue, he was fascinated, he wanted to know everything about the two but it wasn't easy to find information since there was so much nonsense on the internet and there were hardly any books on the subject.
Some say that the two men died together in a war, others say that they were torn apart just before death but according to the little bit of information Kaito had found they had burnt alive.
It wasn't a pretty thought and Gakupo thought the story was nonsense anyway. If it were true wouldn't there be documents of the prince at least? Apparently the king had it all destroyed but it seemed like some sort of far-fetched love story to Gakupo, like Romeo and Juliet.
It was impossible to figure out what they looked like from the statue too, as years of decay had ruined the faces of the two.
He didn't say too much about it though as he knew how much Kaito was inspired by the story and he loved seeing the sparkle in his boyfriend's eye when he spoke about it.
The blue haired man was sat below the statue, his notebook on his knee, covered in random words and ideas for songs and stories.
Kaito was a fantastic song writer, Gakupo argued that he was better than himself but Kaito would then say that Gakupo had a better voice but Gakupo disagreed.
Gakupo smiled as Kaito pushed himself up, his jeans were a little dirty from sitting on the ground and his white blue jacket was a little grey from pencil marks.
His soft blue hair was messy and his large dark blue eyes shined when they saw Gakupo.
With a huge smile Gakupo moved to pull him into a hug.
"It's okay" Kaito smiled, nuzzling into his boyfriend's chest.
Kaito then pulled away to pick up his notebook and pen, shoving them into his pocket and turning back to Gakupo.
"Ready?" the purple haired man asked, Kaito nodded.
Gakupo took the other's hand and they began walking, they had agreed to meet up here after work but Gakupo had been caught up in band practice which led him to being a little late.
Kaito didn't mind so much, he understood that Gakupo had his reasons but the taller man couldn't help feeling a little guilty, he hated making his boyfriend wait and he wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.
They had planned to go on a date and luckily they still had time to see the move they had agreed on, it was some horror movie from America.
Gakupo was never really affected by horror movies but his boyfriend was terrified of them so he didn't understand why Kaito suggested seeing one.
"I'm a man" Kaito mumbled as they made their way into the cinema. "I am manly"
"Okay, then can the manly man remove his nails from my arm" Gakupo let out, gritting his teeth and Kaito pulled his hands away, apologising.
Gakupo laughed and kissed Kaito's cheek tenderly.
"Calm down, I'm sure it won't be that scary"
Kaito nodded and sucked in a breath as Gakupo handed over the tickets and they were pointed in the direction of the screen.
"I'm brave" Kaito mumbled.
Gakupo smiled "Incredibly brave, my brave hero"
Kaito had always been like this, ever since they were children.
Gakupo and Kaito had met when they were about nine years old and at first they had never really spoken until Kaito had attempted to scold bullies who had been pulling Gakupo's hair, which was long even back then.
The rescue hadn't gone as planned as Kaito became the new target and Gakupo ended up beating the bullies up.
After that they had become pretty close, they hung around each other every day at school and sometimes visited each other's houses.
Gakupo started taking piano lessons and Kaito would often sit beside him and sing made up lyrics to go with the music or sometimes he'd just listen.
This friendship went into their teens when Gakupo, at the age of thirteen, discovered that he had a crush on the blue haired boy.
He hated himself for his crush. He convinced himself that he wasn't normal, that Kaito would hate him if he found out and that he had to stay away from the other boy, his heart wouldn't stop pounding when they were together and it scared him.
He was scared and confused and this led to Gakupo avoiding Kaito for almost an entire year until Kaito had confronted him, sobbing and shaking as he asked if Gakupo hated him now. Kaito's tears shook the purple haired boy and he realised that he couldn't hurt him like this, he couldn't make Kaito sad.
It took until Gakupo was fifteen to actually confess and he was surprised and overjoyed when Kaito admitted that he felt the same.
They didn't officially start dating until they were about seventeen years old and now Gakupo was twenty one and Kaito was twenty.
Gakupo had loved Kaito for so long and for as long as he could remember Kaito was quite jumpy with horror.
He hated horror books and movies most of the time and he had punched Gakupo in the arm when he first listened to the song 'Specimen Girl', maybe writing that one was against Gakupo's better judgement, it took him hours to convince Kaito that it was just a song and that it didn't mean anything.
In the cinema they picked out seats at the back and Kaito was soon latching onto his boyfriend's hand as they sat.
Gakupo sighed and stroked Kaito's arm soothingly "We don't have to watch it if you're scared"
"No! Th-This was my idea, I'll be okay"
Gakupo nodded and moved to wrap his arm around his boyfriend's shoulders as his lover leaned against his shoulder, waiting for the film to start.
The film wasn't too bad to begin with, nothing really happened and Gakupo found himself pretty bored until about half way through and he found Kaito's face buried into his chest as the screaming of the main female character sounded throughout the cinema.
He was trembling and Gakupo started to stroke his head softly, planting a gently kiss to the top of it.
"Kaito, it's okay, it's just a movie"
"The doll..." Kaito sobbed.
"It's okay"After the film was over Gakupo took his trembling boyfriend home, trying to contain a chuckle at the adorable reactions of the other.
"It wasn't that scary"
"Easy for you to say, you're not scared of anything" Kaito responded as they got to the front door and Gakupo fished the key out of his pocket.
"Not true," Gakupo sighed. "There are certain things that terrify me"
"Like what?" Kaito asked with a curious glint in his eyes, Gakupo opened the door and allowed Kaito to enter first.
"Well, I'm terrified about my band breaking up. I'm terrified of fire but there is one thing that terrifies me more than anything," he closed the door behind him and pulled his boyfriend into an embrace, placing a kiss on his forehead. "I'm terrified of losing you"
A blush coloured Kaito's cheeks at those words and he burrowed his face into his boyfriend's shoulder, he'd always do this when he felt scared or embarrassed.
Gakupo was Kaito's safe place, he felt so relaxed in his arms.
"I love you" he whispered to the larger man. "I love you so much"
Gakupo smiled and pressed his lips against the top of Kaito's head "I love you too, more than anything"
With a soft smile and a kiss to Kaito's forehead Gakupo pulled away and the two removed their shoes before Gakupo placed a hand on his boyfriend's back, leading him further into the house.
"Choose a movie, let's take your mind off that horror film"
Kaito nodded and grinned, running into the living room as Gakupo moved into the kitchen to make some hot chocolate.
Kaito pulled off his jacket and draped it over the back of the nearest chair as he moved to the case under the television where they kept the DVDs.
After the horror movie he wanted the security of familiarity so he looked for a Disney movie, shuffling through them he decided on Lilo and Stitch and put it into the DVD player.
Kaito waited for Gakupo before turning on the film.
Gakupo came into the living room with two mugs of hot chocolate, setting his own down and leaning down to hand Kaito's over to him, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
"Here you go, Rose"
Kaito smiled through a blush at the name.
He couldn't remember when Gakupo started calling him that or even why he gave him that pet name, sometimes he felt like Gakupo had called him that forever, it was always there.
He didn't know why Gakupo chose 'Rose' in particular but he liked it.
Gakupo moved down next to his boyfriend and wrapped his arm around Kaito's shoulders, Kaito leaning into his side as he held his hot chocolate, turning the film on as he relaxed, the drink and his boyfriend's embrace warming his body after the walk home.
Kaito stared down at his drink as Gakupo rested his chin on his blue head, watching the television quietly when anxious thoughts started to take over Kaito's train of thought.
Sometimes he wondered if he was too much of a hassle to Gakupo.
Kaito was easily scared, he wasn't talented, he didn't have all the same interests as Gakupo and compared to him he was so plain.
"G-Gakupo..." he let out, craving some form of reassurance that his thoughts were just some silly fear and nothing to fret over.
Gakupo made a sound to show that he was listening.
"Do you ever feel...like I'm not as good for you as I should be?"
Gakupo raised an eyebrow at that. "What do you mean?"
"I mean..." Kaito swallowed nervously and set down his drink, refusing to look his boyfriend in the eye. "Do you ever feel like I'm not right for you? I mean...I'm not that attractive, we have different tastes, I'm a wimp, I cry all the time, I have no talents, I-"
A finger pressed to his lips cut him off.
"Kaito," Gakupo let out , the name followed by a soft sigh. "I've answered this question before and I'll do it again. You are everything to me. Listen to me."
Gakupo moved his hand t gently push Kaito's face to the side, allowing him to look at him, examining his boyfriend's reddening face.
"You are incredibly attractive to me, no matter what you or what anyone else thinks, you are the most attractive person I've ever met and likely will ever meet. Who cares if our tastes are different? That just means we get to learn more about each other, we get to see the world through the others eyes, we don't have to share everything, Kaito, that's not how the world works. It'd be boring if we agreed on everything. You're not a wimp, you're jumpy, yes, but not a wimp. I don't mind you getting scared by a movie because then I get to hold you and when you cry I'll always be willing to wipe your tears away. And as for the last one," Gakupo scoffed.
"No talents? Bullshit! Kaito, you are incredible. You can write lyrics and music, you can sing, act and dance too. Not just that but you can play piano, violin, bass, the flute, drums and who knows what else. You speak how many languages? Three? You design my band's outfits and the songs you've helped me write are some of the best we have. Also you can braid my hair better than anyone else"
Kaito giggled at that.
"No matter what you think of yourself" Gakupo whispered, resting his forehead against Kaito's own. "I will always think you're perfect"
Kaito smiled and rested his hand on the back of Gakupo's head "I love you"
"I love you too" the larger man responded before placing a gentle kiss on Kaito's waiting lips. And they're back!!! I can't help it, these two are my life right now. This is the sequel to Magnetized Poison so expect references to the original fic. Let me know what you think in the comments and also any ideas you may have for the story, that'll be great. Until next time, love you all.
