Kaito was taken aback by Gakupo's outburst. Gakupo couldn't protect him? What nonsense was that?
Gakupo had always been by his side, he had always protected him and Kaito had always protected Gakupo.
Kaito would scare off the kids pulling Gakupo's hair.
Gakupo would punch the bullies who made Kaito cry.
Kaito would always help Gakupo with his homework.
Gakupo would always inspire Kaito's lyrics.
Kaito was there for Gakupo when he came out to his parents.
Gakupo was there for Kaito when he came out to his.
"Gakupo, if what Gumi said really happened then that's nonsense, you protected me!"
Gakupo shook his head, he couldn't look Kaito in the eye anymore, it was as if he was being haunted by memories that weren't even truly his own.
"You died".
"So did you!" Kaito argued. "Which means I'm just as guilty for not protecting you! You're not superman, Gakupo. I know you want to be the hero but you're human. But you're still my hero!"
Gakupo still wasn't looking at Kaito and the blue haired man was forced to grab his face, making him look at him.
"Do you remember that time when we were on that crowded train and that guy started making a grab for my butt? You almost broke his hand! Or that time when I drunk a little too much at a party and you had to come pick me up? You carried me home and wrapped me up and just let me sleep in your arms. There are so many other things I could mention too. Gakupo you've always protected me, you've always been there for me. What happened, if it did happen, it was in another life time. This is our life now, Gakupo, and I love you!"
The couple had completely forgotten about Gumi as she stood to the side, watching them with a blush painting her cheeks.
Gakupo had moved to kiss Kaito, the smaller man's words had clearly gotten to him. Gakupo's arms wrapped around Kaito, his hand cradling the blue haired man's head and Kaito held onto him tightly.
"Okay, guys!" Gumi let out, moving forward and clapping her hands and causing the two lovers to snap out of their daze, looking towards her and stepping away from eachother. "You believe me now right?"
"I don't want to" Gakupo let out, grabbing Kaito's hand. He refused to move away from the smaller man, gripping his hand tightly, lowering his head.
Kaito nodded, leaning against the other's. "But we need to believe you, for now anyway" he finished for his lover.
Gumi nodded, taking careful steps towards the door, raising her hands towards them as she smiled.
"I know it's scary but this is a huge discovery, a huge breakthrough" she moved to grab Kaito's hand but Gakupo pulled both of them back, his arms suddenly wrapped protectively around Kaito.
"I'm sorry" she let out.
"It's okay, he's nervous" Kaito let out.
Kaito pulled out of Gakupo's hold and led him forward, moving them passed Gumi and he motioned for her to follow.
Gakupo stood between them at all times, his eyes were blank and he seemed dazed and tired, exhausted all of a sudden. He seemed to latch onto Kaito, refusing to let go of him. Kaito couldn't help but feeling a sense of sadness as his lover moved so close to him.
The history they had discovered most have disturbed him greatly, he felt as if he was a failure.Kaito had to convince Gakupo to let Gumi in their house, the large of the two keeping his arm around Kaito's shoulders, his face against his neck, trying to be as close to Kaito as he could possibly be.
He took in a deep breath, Kaito's scent relaxing him greatly. Gakupo had always felt a comfort at being at Kaito's side. His beloved had protected him as children and Gakupo could never let go of the sense of safety he felt while resting in Kaito's arms.
"You two are adorable" Gumi said into his cup of coffee that Kaito had offered her. He had been making it with Gakupo leaning over him, his nose nuzzled into his hair.
"He gets like this when he's upset" Kaito let out, stroking Gakupo's hair lovingly, the man almost drifting to sleep against his side.
"You really love each other, huh?" she smiled.
She then sighed, staring into her coffee as she swirled it around in her cup, gripping it with both hands.
"You did back then too, I'm sure of it. You died for each other"
Gakupo's grip tightened ever so slightly then, this subject clearly made him uncomfortable. Kaito shook his head, pressing a kiss against the top of his boyfriend's head, caressing his hair once again.
"He's not like in his music, huh?" Gumi let out.
"He can be" Kaito responded, blushing as he remembered some of Gakupo's more...suggestive lyrics, their more intimate situations in which Gakupo took on a similar persona to that of his music. He couldn't deny that he enjoyed those situations but he also liked the softer side of his lover, a side that he showed only Kaito.
"I won't tell anyone about this" Gumi smiled.
"You'd better not" Gakupo let out, lifting away from Kaito's shoulder to glare at the green haired girl.
"I have an image to up hold, the fans can't find out about this"
Meiko nodded again, placing her hand to her heart and nodding furiously. "I know, I know. Rock stars have an image, fans don't like it when the image changes".
