Kaito woke the next day with a yawn as the sun shone through the crack in the curtains of the bedroom he shared with his boyfriend.
He pushed himself up and rubbed his eyes as he tried to understand how he had fallen asleep in Gakupo's arms on the couch and woken up in their bed.
Gakupo must have carried him up when he had fallen asleep.
He pushed himself up onto his arms and yawned again, looking around the room for his boyfriend until he heard the sound of water running in the shower.
Kaito smiled and curled up against the pillows, taking in Gakupo's scent from the pillow next to his head.
It had a distinct scent, it smelt of a combination of sweat and deodorant and another scent that was specifically Gakupo.
Kaito yawned and held onto the pillow tightly.
"Morning, rose" he heard, footsteps approaching him before the mattress sank slightly, his boyfriend leaning over him.
He felt kisses being pressed against his shoulder and he smiled softly, opening his eyes.
"Good morning"
Gakupo leaned over Kaito, wrapping his arms around his shoulders as he nuzzled his hair, it was then that Kaito realised his boyfriend was nude other than a towel around his waist.
Kaito flushed red as Gakupo kissed his shoulder.
"Ah, this isn't fair" Gakupo grumbled into Kaito's shoulder "Seeing you first thing in the morning makes me want to stay here all day"
Kaito giggled and shifting, swatting the larger man away.
"Put on some clothes, you have to go to the studio"
"What if I don't want to put clothes on?" Gakupo questioned with a flirtatious wink.
He was rewarded for that by a pillow to the face and he jumped away, laughing as he nodded and moved to get dressed.
"Okay, okay, but you should get up soon too, you have to see a client today right?"
Kaito groaned as he was reminded of work, Kaito was a song writer who worked with the same studio Gakupo's band did but he wrote songs for some of the singers on the lable.
"Yeah, Meiko" he yawned.
Meiko was Kaito's long time client, she had been a singer for a while and had a moderate following but she wasn't hugely famous. She was actually a childhood friend of Kaito's and they would even go around saying they were going to get married, of course things didn't go in that direction.
Meiko was one of the first people Kaito came out to and one of the first he had told of his feelings for Gakupo.
"Finished the song for her?" Gakupo asked, pulling his hair back into a loose pony tail and tugging on a loose fitting white shirt.
Kaito shook his head "Not yet but I got most of the lyrics so I'm going to discuss the backing track with her today"
He moved his hand to the bedside table and held out a piece of paper with the title 'Break It Break It' written on it.
"Ever considered recording your songs yourself?"
"A few times but I don't know..." Kaito let out as he pulled on his jacket. He had considered singing his own songs sometimes, Gakupo had tried to convince him to sing, even if it was a duet, but he wasn't sure if his voice was good enough.
"It's your decision but I think you'd do great as a singer" Gakupo said as he moved to kiss Kaito's cheek.
He then walked out of the room with a wave "I'll see you tonight, rose"
Kaito nodded with a smile "If not at the office I'll see you tonight"After his boyfriend had left Kaito had found himself lying face down on the bed once again, this time he was dressed and ready to go see Meiko but he was so tired and the bed smelt like Gakupo.
Gakupo was recording today, a song Gakupo had spent months writing, it was called Paranoid Doll and Kaito knew it was going to be incredible just like everything Gakupo wrote.
Maybe if he got there in time and finished with Meiko quickly he'd be able to catch Gakupo recording vocals.
Gakupo had the most incredible voice Kaito had ever heard, when he spoke or when he sang, he had this low and captivating tone, it had a range that many couldn't reach and he could go from smooth and gentle to rough and sexy in seconds.
He'd be able to hear Gakupo sing if he got up now.
With that motivation Kaito pushed himself up and made his way out, grabbing his wallet and key as he headed out.
Kaito wrapped his scarf around his neck as he moved, the blue wrap being one of the first gifts given to him by Gakupo and when the weather called for it he wouldn't be seen without it.
The scarf wasn't flashy or expensive but it was soft and warm and he loved the simplicity of such a gift.
Kaito couldn't deny that he believed that Gakupo may be his true love, the man had been by his side for so long and he couldn't imagine anyone else in his place.
Sometimes he wondered if Gakupo felt the same way but then he'd see those crystal eyes shine as they looked in his direction, he'd notice that gentle smile that Gakupo only seemed to use around him, the way Gakupo's arm would wrap around his waist when he kissed his cheek.
Moments like those made him believe that Gakupo felt the same way.
