There Goes The Neighborhood

Athena's P.O.V.

I'm currently at school sitting on the floor next to Elena's feet 'reading' a braille book I have while she is talking to Stefan. "Damon isn't talking to me." Stefan confesses. "Aw looks like the asshole's feelings are hurt." I say sarcastically. "Enough with the commentary Athena." Elena warns. "Yeah yeah." I wave her off and go back to 'reading' my braille book. "I wish I could get through one day without any vampires except you maybe we could do something later?" Elena asks suggesting sex. "Ew I did not need to hear that." I say in disgust. "Stop eavesdropping Athena." Elena demands. "Oh I'm sorry if my hearing is heightened might as well close my ears." I say sarcastically. "Anyways excuse my sister she is feeling particularly sarcastic today." Elena informs Stefan. I then hear them kiss and scrunch up my face in slight disgust. "Get a room you two." I tell them causing them to laugh at me. I then get up and put my braille book in my backpack and stretch my limbs because I've been sitting for a short while. We all start to walk down the hall together when Caroline stops us. "Hey Athena." She greets. "Hey." I greet back. "I was wondering if you and Stefan would like to go on a double date with me and Matt?"She ask directing the question to Elena. "Sounds like fun to me Elena?" Stefan asks her. "Sure why not sounds like fun. Elena says. "Well this is my que to leave catch you guys later." I tell them and walk off. I put my hand on the wall and look for the braille sign for two when I find it I walk up the last few steps and start to walk down he hall to my class it's a special class i go since I'm blind and all people think it would be extremely hard if for me if they put me in a regular class so I have to take this one instead. Which is honestly complete bullshit because a lot of it isn't hard quite honestly I've helped Elena with her homework numerous times and I have asked teachers for chances to do them and I did exceptionally well I might add.

It's about lunch time and me and Bonnie are hanging out without the others. "So bon bon can you teach me a spell?" I ask but she says nothing. "Oh you were serious?" She exclaims. "Yes of course since when am I not serious?" I ask and she goes to speak but I cut her off. "Don't answer that." I add. "Okay follow me." She orders then takes me by my hand and leads me somewhere. "Repeat after me Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras. Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras." She instructs. "Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras. Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras." I repeat. " Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Veras. Phasmatos Tribum, Melan Vera." I repeat again more forcefully."That's good the dead flowers that are here are up and lively." She praises. "Thanks Bonnie." I say hugging her. "I have to go I have to go find Elena." I inform her grabbing my bag. "See you later Athena." She says. I begin to walk away back into the school to find my sister. "I'm thinking nothing huge, just a dinner at the grill maybe a late movie." I hear the voice of Caroline suggest. I follow the sound of her voice until I reach her. "You mean like a double date?" Stefan asks. "Hi Athena." Stefan greets. "Hey Stef." I greet back. "Two pair out on a Friday night coupled. Yeah a double date." Caroline confirms. "You think that's a good idea?" I question. I mean my sister and Matt have history.

Elena's P.O.V

Athena is right it's going to be awkward between me and Matt like come on we have history. "Why not? We all haven't gone out together before and I don't want it to be uncomfortable for us. Look the couple dynamics have changed and there's been a little awkwardness between you, Matt, and me and I just think it's important that we get over it." Caroline says. "I don't know." I answer uneasily. "I think that sounds like a great idea." Stefan speaks up. "You do?" I ask raising my eyebrow. "Yeah. A nice evening out with friends. Sounds fun, as in "fun"." Stefan answers. "Well this got awkward real fast so I'm going to go to class bye guys." And Athena hurries out of here. " A double date it is." I confirm. "Ok. So, we will see you tonight." Caroline informs us. "Okay." I nod my head and she walks away. I then turn to Stefan. "Okay."

Athena's P.O.V.

When I get home I have a feeling something bad will happen. I walk upstairs to my room and get dressed in some pajamas that Elena always lays out for me. After I get dressed I start my homework by listening to an e-book on the Vietnam war. After a few minutes of listening to it I pause it then get up and walk downstairs. "You got me flowers!" Elena states excitedly. "You got her flowers and not me? I'm hurt Stefan I really am." I joke. "Athena here." He says. I outstretch my arm and open my hand. He hands me a flower and I smell it. "Thanks Stefan." I say smiling.

"You are welcome." He says. Oh what I would give to see. I walk back up to my room and sit on my bed I turn on the radio and begin to listen to music.

Eventually I get hungry and go to knock on my brother's door. I hear the shuffling of his feet and shushing of voices and I wait patiently for him to open the door. "Yes Athena?" He asks. "Can you make me something? I'm hungry." I state patting my my belly. "Okay come on." He says closing the door. "Oh and tell your friend I said she smells nice." I say and I can feel him freeze next to me. "Just chill out little brother I won't tell aunt Jenna or buzz kill Elena." I assure him and he laughs at my joke. "Do you want some pizza rolls?" He asks. "Sure." I shrug. I hear him open the freezer and takes them out.

A few minutes later the microwave goes off and he sets the plate in front of me . "Thank you baby brother." I say ruffling his hair. "No touching the hair." He fakes aggression. He walks back upstairs and I begin to eat my pizza rolls. Once I'm done I walk back to my room and lay back on my bed. My eyes get heavier and heavier until I fall asleep listening to music.
