I stirred in my sleep after the sound of my phone ringing in the distance broke me out of the dream that I had been having.
The repetitive tune that was my ringtone eventually stopped playing a few moments later, and I let out a small sigh of relief at the silence that followed.
Sleep was just seconds away from consuming me once again when my phone began to ring for the second time in a row.
"Oh, for Christ's sake!" I snapped, pushing the covers away from my face.
I flung my hand out to grab the device from my nightstand, and after feeling around the area for a bit, my previously relaxed actions quickly turned frantic.
