I woke up to something sitting on my chest. My eyes slowly opened to find Angelo on top of me. 'Good morning buddy.' I said as I picked him up and got off of the sofa. 'You got home late.' Adele quipped as I walked into the kitchen. 'I was catching up with a friend and just lost track of time.' I responded taking Angelo's bottle from her and giving it to him. 'Well my mum called last night and wants us over for supper. I told her you would go.' I took a deep breath. 'Yeah that's fine.'

We sat in silence while we both finished our breakfast and then I took the baby upstairs to get him ready for the day. 'Are we going to talk about yesterday?' Adele asked as she stood in the doorway of Angelo's nursery. 'No. Like all of our problems we're going to ignore it and instead find something small to fight about.' I hastily responded. 'Simon.' Adele protested.

'No, Adele. I'm here fighting for my family. Fighting for what we once had and you're off with some other guy. I thought you were better than that. If he was 'just a friend' then why would you hide him? Neither of us our happy yet I seem to be the only one trying to fix it and it's been that way for months. All I want to do is spend time with my son. So, no, we're not going to talk about yesterday. And tonight we'll go to you're mum's house and pretend everything is fine. That's how it's been for the last few months and that's how it'll continue to be.'

I turned back around to tend to the baby who was laying in his crib. 'I'll take him to the park when he wakes up.' I said walking past Adele as I left the room. 'You're right. It just seems easier to keep pushing everything aside and not deal with it. I'm sorry.' Adele apologized as she followed me into our room. 'It's fine. I didn't mean to yell or get mad. I'm just frustrated.' I replied, going into the bathroom to start a shower. 'Do you think we can get through this?' She asked. I took a deep breath and turned around to face her. 'I hope so. For Angelo's sake, I really hope so.' She gave me a faint smile and then nodded. 'Me too.'

About an hour later when Angelo woke up, I got him ready for the park. As we were about to leave Adele asked if she could come and I agreed. 'We could use some family time.' She said. As we walked the few blocks to the nearest park, my hand gravitated towards Adele's and I squeezed it. 'I'm sorry.' I mouthed. She brought my hand to her lips and kissed it.

When we finally arrived at the park, I took Angelo out of his buggy and walked over to the swings. Adele was sitting on a bench watching us when I noticed someone approaching her. I kept watching as the man sat next to her and they started talking. A few minutes passed and he got up to leave before kissing her. I could feel my face grow hot with anger and didn't even bother trying to hide it.
