'Ready already?' Adele asked as I put Angelo back in his buggy. 'It's cold.' I responded without even looking at her. 'Simon, what's wrong? Is everything okay?' She asked. I didn't reply and kept walking. 'Simon. Talk to me.' She insisted grabbing my arm.

I stopped and looked at her. 'I saw you. I saw you kiss that man right in front of me. Do you think I'm stupid? I don't know what to do anymore Adele.' She didn't responded and just gave me a blank stare. 'That's what I thought. When we get home I'll pack my bags. I think we need some space.'

The rest of the walk home was filled with utter silence and even when we returned nothing was said. After I gathered a small bag, I told Angelo goodbye. 'I'll come by and pick him up for a few hours tomorrow.' I told Adele before walking towards the door. 'I'm sorry.' She quietly said as she sat at the bottom of the stairs, watching me leave.

'I know you are, Adele. We just need a break, okay. I'll text you in the morning about Angelo.' I put my hand on the door handle but turned around at the last minute. 'I love you Adele.'

I closed the door and stood against it for a minute, unsure of where I would go next. Just as I got into my car to head to my flat I still had in central London, my phone started ringing.

'Hello.'
'Hey, its Katie.' My heart instantly started beating faster and my mood drastically changed.
'I'm glad you used my napkin. How are you?' I heard her laugh on the other end and a smile instantly appeared on my face.
'Do you want to meet for dinner?'
'That would be perfect. I could really use a distraction. Text me your address and I'll pick you up around 8 tonight.'
'Okay, but just as friends.'
'Just friends.' I repeated.

The whole drive I couldn't get Katie off my mind. I know I shouldn't feel like this but just her presence made me so happy. And in such a short amount of time. I pulled up to my flat and took a nap once I was inside. A couple of hours later I woke up with enough time to shower and change before I had to leave to pick up Katie.

When i pulled in front of Katie's flat my stomach filled with butterflies and I became overly nervous. I didn't know why since it was just a dinner between friends and nothing more. I got out of the car and walked up to her door to ring the doorbell. When she answered my my face immediately lit up. 'Hey, Simon. I just have to grab my bag and then we can go.' She was wearing white sneakers with ripped jeans and a loose top.

'I was thinking we could try this new sushi place down the street.' She said when we got into the car. 'Yeah, sounds good.' I responded trying my best to not act too weird. On the drive to the restaurant we talked about our day and I told her what had happened earlier with Adele.

'I'm so sorry, Simon. Maybe there's something more to the story.' I knew she meant well but I was still furious about what had happened. When we arrived at the restaurant we were instantly seated and we were both starving so we placed our orders right away. Around ten, when we finished I offered to go back to my place to hang out. I defiantly didn't think or want anything to happen between us.

But I would soon find myself in a situation I would one day regret.
