Chapter 25

Eliza's POV

Was it really that obvious that I like Maria? I mean I didn't tell anyone, ok maybe when I was at John's dorm hanging with them I told his turtle. But turtles can't talk so he couldn't have told anyone. I haven't even told Peggy or Angelica! I even tell them everything! They're my sisters! But I'm scared, what if they don't except me for being bi. Only Alex, John, Laf, and Herc know I'm bi but that's because they know how I feel. I mean Alex and Herc are bi and well John and Laf are straight up gay so close enough.

Im supposed to meet Alex and John at Alex's dorm. Alex said today was a good day because Aaron wouldn't be there because he is meeting up with his friend Theodosia.

That's when I saw her, Maria. With.... James Reynolds. He kissed her... and then grabbed her waist. I couldn't hold back my tears. I ran inside to the dorm as fast I could, tears running down my face. I banged on the door.

"Eli-" I cut Alex off. I hugged him as tight as I could closing my eyes tightly. "Eliza what's wrong? John could you close the door?" he asked.

"Ya I got it" John said walking out of the bathroom "Omg! Liza?! What's wrong?!" he half yelled while closing the door.

Alex sat me down on the couch sitting right next to me and hugging me tightly. I continued crying.

"Sh-she's wi-with J-James..." I said quietly continuing to sob. John kneeled in front of me and took my hands.

"Liza calm down, it's ok. We have no idea what you are saying." John said trying to cheer me up.

I took deep breathes trying to pull myself together. After I calmed down I was finally able to tell them.

"She was with J-James Reyn-olds" I said with some tears still falling down my face "He-he ki-kissed her and hug-hugged her."

"Who? Maria?" Alex asked still hugging me.

I nodded. I couldn't believe it. What if she isn't even into girls, I mean I'm screwed. I'll never have the love of my life at this rate.

"Im sure it's just a misunderstanding, Maria doesn't seem like the type of person to hang out with a guy like James Reynolds, I mean he hangs out with Samuel Seabury and George Eacker. They are all bad news and Maria is nothing like them. If anything he is making her." Alex said while getting up. "I'll make us some tea and I can call Hercules and Lafayette over and they can bring movies and we can all hang out. Is that good?"

"Yea" I said quietly "Thank you so much" I hugged John tightly.

"I'll call the guys over." John said.

"Don't call Peggy or Angelica. I don't want them to see me like this and worry about me right now. Maybe later once I'm ok then we can. I just want to hang with you guys." I said wiping tears from my face.

A few minutes later Alex was brining the tea over to us and Hercules and Lafayette barged in.

"WE HEARD WHAT HAPPENED!" Lafayette yelled "We are so sorry mon amie! We brought movies and snacks and we can all just forget about this, all of it!" he continued putting the snacks in the mini kitchen and the movies on the table. Then he ran over and hugged me.

"Oh liza Im so sorry" Herc said as he hugged me too.

"GUYS! I CANT BREATHE GET OFF ME!" I yelled laughing.

"Oh... sorry mon amie" Laf said as they both got off me.

"I saved every text she sent me" I sang quietly and the guys looked at me confused.

"From the moment Liza read she knew she was the one" Alex sang next.

"She said she'd be yours" Laf sang with his dumb French accent.

"I thought she'd be mine" I sang while a tear fell down my cheak. "Burn" I said quietly.

"Awe Liza" John said hugging me then everyone joined in.

"Once again! I can't breathe!" I yelled

We laughed while Herc put the movie in. As soon as I heard the first sounds I knew what we were watching.

"Nooooo Herc. Not this one!" I yelled.

"BUT I LOVE FROZEN!" He screamed.

John threw a pillow at him. "We are not watching frozen" John said as herc started singing. "DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?"

The rest of screamed no in unison.

"Yo I'm John Laurens in the place to be, 2 cups of this tea because Alex made me" John sang.
"King George don't want it with me because I will slap his face off."

"Oui Oui mon amie J'ampell Lafayette, the frenchest fry of the French. I came from France to say fuck off to the girl who broke Eliza's heart." Laf sang next. I giggled. Everyone looked at me expecting to go next.

"My name is Liza, I am a girl? I wrote this thing just to show it. I just turned 20 you can break hearts but you can't break mine!"

"Dammn Liza can freestyle" herc said.

"Eh not really I just came up with it last minute" I said. "I didn't expect to be rapping."

We all laughed. Then we got a phone call.

"It's not mine, Alex I think it's yours." John said looking around.

"Yes it is... Look who it is." Alex showed us his phone. It was Jefferson. Alex ran into the other room and started talking. At one point we heard yelling. Around 10 minutes later he walked out.

"He's coming over. You guys aren't supposed to be here. I have a plan."
