An: probably the last An of this book, unless I gotta explain unclear things, I blab too much in em anyways. Y'all came for the new chapter XP
Enjoy~Sans pov:
Waiting for you to catch on was the boring part.
He knew you were a little slow sometimes.
But not when it came to him and his powers.
It wasn't like you WEREN'T aware of how much power he had.
You knew damn well that he could destroy you with a single pierce to your soul with his magic.
So why the hell were you just playing coy?
Playing...
Hmm..
Maybe he should play around with you a bit..
He already smashed your phone to oblivion and took your knife, leaving you pretty much defenseless, but he really wanted to break your resolve somehow.
Only reason you were even here is from your sheer determination.
Ha..
"Your Determination."
It wasn't even yours, you had stolen Frisk's determination somehow, you even had a bit excess from Chara, he wasn't a fool. He knew the difference between the shades of Frisks DT and Chara's. DT.
And he knew your soul better than anyone else had in the Underground. You were so broken when you had first arrived. Physically, mentally and soul wise also. He could almost remember it like yesterday. Ah what an adventure that say had been, especially with getting close to you with his Sans-sational puns,
It was like none other. Your soul had been muted, the color silenced and turned into a murky gray, almost black.
Ahh, you were a sight to see, Frisk had been leading you through Snowdin when he had first spotted you.
He could see your soul as clear as day, he wasn't sure that the other monsters could, but he could see a swirl of red clinging to your soul desperately.
It was almost like you were a leacher, you clung to anybody, as well as your soul. You took on different soul traits many times on their "first meeting.."
You had mimicked Kindness the next time he met you after another RESET. Your soul was a bright shade of emerald, Frisk had reset after Undyne..
Then Integrity. Your soul had been a vibrant shade of azure after hanging around with Papyrus and him.
Patience, you were more patient with Frisk that timeline, and had a more motherly instinct. What a enchanting sky blue your soul was..
Perseverance, you had gotten stuck on Muffet for a while and you never gave up easily afterwards..
Bravery, he didn't know where you had picked up on bravery, but if he had to guess, it was probably from Mettaton and Alphys. You were always afraid of doing things without someone's help..But that time didn't seem the case. You fought all fights with Frisk fearlessly.
Justice. You had charged through the Underground like a mad man, determined to free everyone from their prison. They were freed ultimately, but you had died in the process..
Your soul had been tainted with a blackness afterwards, someone would whisper instructions as you walked through the underground, slaughtering people without a care in the world..
And here you were now. A new soul color after many failed genocides..
And quite determined you were.
Ugh..
How..
ANNOYING
He was pretty sure you'd break after seeing Asriel's remains, but the determination from Chara and Frisk kept you going forward with a now heavy soul, and new sins crawling upon your back and hanging you down by the neck.So what color was your soul actually..?
He'd never tell another monster ever, after all, he had threaded your soul with his own magic to keep the color muted, he didn't want anyone other monster getting any ideas in their head..
And even after all these RESETS your soul was still threaded under all that false Determination..
He knew where you were at all times, no matter what. He knew you were walking down those stairs to exit the Ruins this very second. Hopefully that bum ankle wouldn't slow you down.
Snowdin was waiting..
And so was he..Your pov:
You made your way down the stairs carefully. Your ankle wasn't fully healed, but it had been better then it was before. The pain only throbbed dully now, and as long as you didn't walk on it the wrong way, you'd be golden..
That's right..
Ha..
Golden..
You'd gain the way to Reset again, no matter what it took. You were determined after all..
You promised to avenge all of their deaths.
You just hoped that your said determination wouldn't run down..
You prayed that you'd be able to save everyone next time..
And Sans..?
You needed to talk with him, big time..
Well if he was still alive that is..
You needed answers and, you had some choice words for his skeletal ass..
"Let's continue, shall we?" Chara hummed out, you nodded and continued walking down the hall.
You knew your memory wasn't a hundred percent. Especially on why Sans was killing you so much in your dreams, but you remembered most of the things you've done down here, even killing everyone. You couldn't remember well why the hell he was so eager on killing you. He usually seemed so pissed about the genocide..
But even after all these Resets and all the times he's killed you. You knew he wasn't a forgiving person. But damn it were you gonna try your hardest to get things back to normal.
As you reached the end of The Ruins, you seen a pile of dust that used to be the caretaker of these once lively Ruins.
You could feel a stab of sorrow as you stared down at her. Your once adoptive mother turned to a pile of dust, it made you choke on a sob before you shook your head rapidly and swallowed down your tears and hung your head.
No you wouldn't cry, because you were determined to get everything back to normal, and you sure as hell weren't giving up any time soon..tFinally, snow.
Your breath came out in small puffs as you stood there, staring at the gate that lie ahead. The same gate you crossed so many times now.
Even in this fucked up timeline, that gate has brought you comfort, especially since it was made by the ray of sunshine known as Papyrus..
Papyrus..
You hoped that the maniac didn't get to him yet.
You gave a little laugh as a smile pulled at your lips.
Of course they didn't! Papyrus was strong! And all those traps and puzzles must've confused this person somehow.
You could feel your legs beginning to carry you onwards towards the gate.
If you could befriend Papyrus and everyone else, then he'd have to forgive you.
You were sprinting now, the cold wind nipping at your coloring cheeks as you ran down the path you had come to know a hundred times at least.
A big grin pulled at your face, you were determined. And you weren't going to give up yet..
Well, at least you thought so.
While you were so caught up in your new found resolve, you didn't notice gravity taking over after you tripped over that thick branch.
Aaaaand you were lying face flat in the snow with a groan.
Your ankle throbbed in protest, making you hiss in pain as you tried pulling yourself up, only for a almost unbearable pain run through your leg. Shit!? Was it broken?!
No no no no no!
You tried moving it a little..
Success!
You just needed to take it easy.
You went to get back in your feet until a lavender glow surrounded your body and put you upward.
"Seeing you face plant gets funnier every time." You heard a deep chuckle from behind, you tried turning in your ankle, only to cry out in pain and land back down in the snow..
A whine died down on your lips as you stared at dust covered sneakers.
"LV 19" Chara had said, making you gasp slightly. You could hear the confusion and slight fear within their voice as you took in a shaky breath.
No...
He didn't..
"'S no way to treat an old pal." You could almost heard the pout in his voice if it wasn't for the grin stretched across his skull.
"Sans the Skeleton.." Chara's voice was merely a whisper as you stared up at the different colored pinpricks.
What the hell was going on!?
"It's me.." He cooed out cupping your cheek with a hand, the dust that had been sticking to him came off on your cheek making you give off a weak whimper as you sought to get away from him. Your heart was pounding so loudly, you were sure it'd probably explode from your chest.
He had a look of adoration within his sockets as he stared at you. But your small whimper seemed to snap him back.
"Don't be like that.." His grin dropped slightly as he stood up to his full height. He seemed more menacing then the last time you seen him. Must've been all that Love within him.
"Sans.." You managed to croak with a small shudder.
"You killed everyone.." You stared at the dust covering his form.
The grin he had been wearing before stretched a gross his face as he lowered his head and chuckled.
You seen him tilt his head a little to the side before he nodded silently.
"Of course Papyrus.." He muttered, you felt your whole body tense as he took a step forward and summoned a bone that landed within his hand, he wasn't going to kill you..right?
"Killed everyone? Yeah, I did that I guess.." He shrugged nonchalantly before grabbing the collar of your shirt and yanking you to your feet, a yelp of pain left your lips as you gripped the now dust covered jacket.
"B-but why!?" You stuttered watching as he raised the bone up slowly, his maniacal grin growing.
"S-sans!? Why!? Tell me damn it!" You closed your eyes tight, a feeling of dread overcoming you. It was hopeless, you knew you were going to die. And there was nothing you could do about it..
Tears threatened to pour from your eyes.
"Because I L o v e you.."
It was the only thing you heard before you were knocked into unconsciousness.."Stay determined.."
"Stay determined.."
