Chapter 18

Chapter 18 draft

You nodded quietly, your fingers feeling at the bandages at your neck.
"I understand..so, this other alternate." You began.
"Nightmare.." Ink corrected.
"He's after me because of my soul..I see, I am unique after all." You gave a small shrug, a laugh escaping your lips.
"Ink..what am I really.." You asked closing your eyes.
"Am I even supposed to exist?"
The agonizing silence soon followed. For minutes the two of you didn't say anything.
"You were supposed to be..a 'Frisk..'" He said, you gave a long sigh as you slid down the pillar in the judgement hall.
You stood quiet, waiting for him to continue on.
"You didn't have a form. When I first found you..you were human, your soul proved it of course. But you didn't have a body.."
You gave him a pained smile as you shrugged. "So I wasn't supposed to exist..I had no world to live in.."
Ink nodded quietly as you leaned against your knees.
"The soul fragments within you. They were supposed to be the human souls, something went wrong in your world though..this person..they never finished. No home. No monsters to save. Just you and the souls. And the "Chara" within you.."

A mistake. A forgotten dream. Thats what you were. And now people were after you just for the powers the fragments had. They only wanted to use you..
You only wanted to give those who you loved peace. You wanted to be their savior..
But what's a dream without a person to have it?
You never did feel right at times. As if things were all too good to be true..
"You know..You won't disappear from this world.." Ink said as he stood up, walking over to you.
The solemn expression never did fit him at all.
"Only from the memories of those who feel strongly for you."
If you did disappear from Sans memories, maybe he could finally be happy..with everyone. Even if you weren't in that picture. You were fine with it. Not everyone got a happy ending after all..
"He'll forget me then?" You asked.
Ink only nodded as he turned away from you.
"You don't have much time..Nightmares getting restless. He's trying to win him over.."
"Understood.." You mumbled lifting yourself up from the floor and dusting yourself off..
You needed to find him..
You needed to do this..
You'd save him, even if he refused to let go.
He always did need help.

*You were never supposed to exist..
"I know." You replied without hesitation.
*You're pieces of already deceased children..
"I remember." You said again as you brushed away a few stray strands of hair away from Frisk's face with a small smile.
*Does this make us thieves?
You gave a small laugh as you left the room, closing the door behind you with a soft click.
"I'm not sure.."
*Are you truly ready for this?
You nodded without a word as you began walking down the stairs of the barren household.
You knew what had to be done. The only thing keeping you tied here was Sans. Ink had told you that you needed to break the a Soul bond. And the only way was for one of you to die..
If one of you died. You'd finally be able to give to give everyone peace.
A glitch without a universe after all was useless..
This was your job.
You needed him to forget..
Shuffling down the stairs with a long sigh, you opened the door out to the snowy wasteland that was once Snowdin.
"I'll gladly die.." You gave a small smile. The fear and apprehension coursing through you made your arms heavy and knees shake.
It made your heart clench as you tightened your grip on the knife in your hoodie pocket, where did he go..?
"Heya.."
You turned around to see Sans standing a few feet away from you, his sockets black and smile no longer present.
"Sans.." You mumbled stumbling up to him, he only held out a hand towards you, one you took within your own and gave a weak smile.
"You love me right?" You asked.
"More than anything.." He replied without hesitation.
"You trust me?" He countered with a question as he brought a hand up to your face.
You nodded into his touch, eyes lidded slightly.
"Of course."
He gave a chuckle at that as he let his hands rest on your shoulders.
"Sorry for earlier..Imma need you to come with me."
You gave him a grin that said you agreed, even if you were slowly dying on the inside.
"It's okay.." You said shoving his head in your shoulder as you hugged him.
"It's gonna be over soon.." He muttered, you nodded with a hum as you slowly took the knife out, readying it at his back.
"I know.." You replied as he wrapped his arms around you. Lifting his head up and leaning against you.
"Good..good.."
The two of you stayed like this for a couple of seconds, he was staring at a figure behind the two of you. One who was smiling away. While you held the knife tightly in your hand.

"I'm sorry.."you whispered out.
"I love you.."
You felt him tense up as you swung downward with all your might, the angle awkward and messy, but you barely managed to miss his skull as the knife sunk clean into the bone, he froze against you, hands going slack around you as you pulled it out roughly, panting heavily. A grotesque crack made its way to your ears, you finally opened your eyes to see the damage you had done.
"Heh.." He was touching the broken side of his skull with a almost disbelieving look on his face. The red pin prick gone and a chunk missing from it. You stabbed right through..
It made your heart ache as you checked his vitals, only to choke on a sob..

"Didn't think you were so..a-head.." He gave a weak chuckle as he clutched his skull, cracks running down the left side of it. Smaller ones just barely spreading to the other side.
"I love you still.."
You took a shaking step forward, biting your trembling lip as he closed his sockets momentarily, only to open them in alarm.

"W-wait.." He muttered, socket narrowing slightly in confusion as he groaned softly.
"Who are you?"
The tears you had been holding back fell down your cheeks as you gave a small laugh and waved a hand.
"I-I-it's okay Sans.." You managed to say before sobbing again, he only gave a confused look before sinking down to a knee with a growl..
"It'll be over..I promise.." You said dropping to your knees and hugging him with a sigh..
"You'll be happy.."
"I will..?" He asked.
"Yes.."

•You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..
You cradled his crumbling body close to your own as you sung out that song, the crimson around the azure slowly disappearing.
•You make me happy, when skies are grey..
He looked so lost, his sockets slowly closing.

The world around you was fading away, the slowly crumbling body leaving your hands.
His soul struggling to keep persisting as you closed your eyes tight..

*Shatter..

*A loud wail of despair echoes throughout his skull...
*A cry that he could never forget...

I might just do one shots with various characters, or turn this rp I'm doing with a friend into a story, idk *shrugs*
