The grounds had been set and the little animals in the forest were quite. They sensed the impending war as both side rallied up their troops, sharpened their blades and kissed good bye. I tried to persuade Mia to go stay with the others in the bunker but she wanted to be front and centre in the war and that scared me. Derick and Matteo tried too but she just fanned them away. Derick was on my case like a flea on a dog.

"You don't have to fight." He said. "You can stay in the bunker." He was behind me as I packed the knives in my boot and around my waist I had the well sharpened sword to sever heads. "I don't want you getting hurt." This had been his speech for the last day and a half. Word had been sent that they would attack in the next few days if I wasn't surrendered.

"Well I don't want you to get hurt either so I'm still coming plus this is my war if I could do it all alone I would." I said turning to him.

"Since I can't get you to stay then you must stay by my side." He hugged me tight.

"I promise." I held out my pinky.

"Go in alive we came back out the same." I held my pinky.

"Do you have your knives?" I asked him.

"Yes." He said showing them to me.

"I love you." I wrapped my hand around his neck.

"I love you too." I put my face in the crook of his neck and inhaled his scent before it gets mixed with those from war. I didn't want to let him go but I slowly did. I caught my hair in a ponytail. My leather pants that Mia said was totally badass had a few knives strapped. We walked out of our bed room and out to the field where Mia and Matteo greeted us.

"Mia there is still time to go in the bunker." I told her.

"That's funny and leave you with the savages." She said her war face on.

"You know I can handle myself." I bragged.

"Well so can I." I looked over as the men and women who wanted more for their life than hiding and running. They looked determine and I was grateful that they saw my cause as their own. The council had wiped out many of their families in an effort to show them that compliance is rewarded. They were ready to transform and get over the council.

The air was thick and the pungent smell of death rose from the earth. I listened and listened trying to hear what it was as it made its way to the surface. They are raising the dead I smelt the hatred that burned bright in their decaying flesh. The living can't kill the dead but I had an idea and I needed more energy than my own.

"Shit." I said.

"What's wrong?" Derick asked.

"They are raising the dead and it's not the pleasant type." I told him.

"Living can't kill the dead." He repeated.

"They can't but you and I can." I said and he looked at me confused. "We are Legends we control all but the amount that is being raised you and I can't manage alone." I told him.

"Hey what's up?" Arogon came up beside us.

"They are raising the dead." I told him.

"Oh shit. What do we do?" he asked a slight panic in his voice. Vampire are soul less because of the way they died. I stood beside Matteo.

"Mia I need him." I dragged him away. "I need your help to summon the dead." I said.

"I don't get how I'll be helpful." He said.

"You are soul less and someone with a soul can't do what I need to be done." I said.

"But don't you have a soul?" he ask.

"Not for long." I took Derick and passed my half to him. "Okay I'm good." I said I knelt down and took the earth in my hand. "Hold on to my shoulder." I said, his hand was there in a second and I began.

For I am your mother and your guide.

I say to thee rise.

Fight those that have corrupted our lineage

Those that have kept you in bondage

Rise to help the loved one's that are at risk

Fight for a better tomorrow

Hades I dare you my son to let the good in spirit go

To fight your mother and father's enemies.

An energy surged through me and I opened my eyes. The trees began to move and corpses began to rise I got off my knees and watched as our troops grew in numbers. Matteo let go and I held on to Derick's hand.

"It worked." I whispered excitedly.

"That's my girl." He smiled. They had risen and knelt before us.

"You don't have to kneel." I said.

"Yes we do for in the presence of true royalty the dead are obligated to kneel and serve." And elderly woman said. Wait I know her.

"Hey I know you." I stood in front of her.

"Yes my queen we have met in Valhalla." Her hand across her chest.

"Please stand, your making me rather uncomfortable." I whispered to her. She nodded and stood and so did the other.

"We are here to serve and say our final farewell to those left behind." She said.

"I'm okay with that." I smiled at her. Derick walked up beside me and she bowed her head.

"My King." She said.

"You can call us Derick and Polly." He said.

"The dead must never get accustomed to calling their leader by formalities, My King." She replied.

"They won't let up." I whispered to him.

"Okay. I guess." She nodded her head and looked up. I felt the itch and I knew they were coming.

"They're coming!" I yelled and everyone took their stance waiting for the attack to begin.

"Luna!" a tiny voice yelled and I looked over.

"You have to be kidding me."
