Ryan, Ella and a few others were walking out of an airport together with large bags and suitcases. It was midday and the breeze blew their hair backwards as they stepped outside.
Refreshing.
Hawaii was having a gorgeous day, and at this moment, it seemed like nothing could top it in Ryan's mind. The group strolled over to the nearest coastline of the island they resided on; a dock was discovered upon their arrival, there was one large boat floating in the water, men seemed to be working on it.
"There it is," Ella stated to the group, looking at the boat from afar, "our ticket to Braxton Island."
Ryan clenched his fist around the suitcase he was holding.
"This is our ticket to revenge," Ryan glared at the ship, "And I can't wait to be there."
The group of gang members walked onto the dock and came to the entrance of the boat. There, they met Drew Yoki awaiting them.
"So the final group is here," Drew stated, he looked across all of them. Then he beckoned them on board. Ryan and the others boarded the boat and Drew began untying the ropes that were keeping the boat docked. And they were off.
Ryan stood on the top deck, there was a second floor beneath the floor, storing food and barracks in case of an emergency. He rested his arms against the railings along the edge of the boat, he looked down at the water crashing against the side of the boat as it began driving through the sea. He felt an arm brush against his elbow, he looked over and found Ella had joined him in resting against the railing. She looked at the horizon of water and said thoughtfully, "I wonder if this will end it all..."
Ryan was quiet for awhile and then responded, "I hope so..."
"I can't believe it came to this," Ella continued, "I was a waiter at a gentlemen's club, with no hope, before this all happened...now here I am, a member of a gang, going into warfare..."
"Pretty crazy..." Ryan muttered back, still gazing at the water below, "This used to be a suicide case...but now...its insanity..."
Ella was silent for awhile. Then Ryan asked, "How long is this trip?"
"I asked Drew," Ella answered, not averting her gaze from the sea, "he said it would be about four hours."
"Okay..." Ryan sighed. He gripped the railing tightly; four more hours.
The notes.
The nurse.
The nights.
The nails.
Izzy.
Ryan's eyes welled up in tears.
"Cole Braxton changed my life," Ella broke the silence with squinted eyes, "I would still be a deplorable stripper if not for him..."
"He changed my life too..." Ryan whimpered, "I'd still be an honorable detective...with....with a happy family...I wish this never happened..."
Ryan hung his head in regret. Ella turned and faced Ryan coldly.
"I don't" Ella replied harshly, then she walked away. He was actually pretty stunned at her statement. Not everything was about him, but Ryan knew that she was one of very few people who benefitted from Cole's success. In contrast to the many people whose lives were destroyed in the villain's wake.
Ryan sighed as he turned back towards the railing and continued his sea-gazing. Three hours passed when he began hearing commotion near the front the boat. The detective began walking over when heard something about an island.
