"OKAY, OKAY! I'LL SIGN IT!!!" A man screamed in fear, "JUST DON'T HURT ME!"
Cole glared at the man with contempt, but then his expression switched to a smile, "Thank you for your compliance."
The man shakily signed the contract, he looked up at Cole, who proceeded to reach out his hand, the man flinched in fear.
"Pleasure doing business with you," Cole stated cheerfully, the man weakly shook Cole's hand. He was escorted to his ride and Cole, per routine, waved his latest victim off. After he had left, Cole walked back inside and Tam was waiting.
"Another day, another victim," Tam mused while lying on the couch, "You really gave it to him, he was wetting his pants by the time you were done."
Cole chuckled, "Yeah, but he got what he deserved; they all think they are big stuff and that I'm a phony, but time and time again, they lose."
"You are a pretty phenomenal guy," Tam laughed, "The crowd won't understand that until they are all under your control."
"If I am going to swindle the entire underground, I should get paid more," Cole replied with irritation.
"You're funny kid," Tam said as he gave Cole a serious glance.
"I'm not kidding,"Cole answered with a glare back at Tam, "you don't even know how strong I have gotten."
"Oh really," Tam mused as he stood up, he walked over to Cole and glared at him, face to face, their noses were about three inches from each other, "I'd like to see you ask the man for a raise."
"Oh I intend to," Cole replied snidely, "He'll know I mean business."
"You can defeat a lot of people Mr. Braxton," Tam whispered with a taunting look, "but the man, the head of Chasm, is one of few who you cannot defeat."
"The Lucid always wins, Tam," Cole hissed, Tam felt chills run up his back, Cole was intimidating, "I'll get what I want."
"You can't invade his dreams, Cole," Tam replied, "He sleeps in his room and his room only, no way to get in except through guards."
"You're right," Cole stated with a smirk, then he tapped the side of Tam's head, "you're just not thinking creatively enough...that's what makes you boring, Tam."
Tam burned up with anger, smacked Cole in the face and then shoved him to the ground, Cole looked up at Tam.
"Getting cocky huh?" Tam sneered, looking down at Cole with grin, "remember who you work for, son."
"Remember that comment when I am in charge of you," Cole spat back before realizing what he said.
"You little bitch!" Tam laughed as he stomped his foot on Cole's face. Cole grunted in pain, Tam roughly rubbed his shoe all over Cole's head, "learn your place, kid!"
Cole didn't reply, Tam let out one last laugh and stepped off of Cole.
"You may be talented, but you are just getting into the life of gangs," Tam said confidently, "You better learn quickly that you aren't the only puppeteer."
Cole did not reply, he stayed on the ground, face to the floor, until Tam walked away. Cole lied there for a few more moments and then he slowly got on his feet. Clutching his face, Cole lumbered his way out of the house, he began to walk home, it was about 2am. Once he made it to his front door, he found Sam waiting for him.
"Why are you here?" Cole asked in irritation as he held his face.
"Wow you're so cold," Sam replied, then he answered Cole's question, "because I'm worried."
