Living in east baltimore was no joke. From the gang violence people dieng everyday, because of dumb situations.
Life was hard living with my mom three sisters, and two brothers. It was a headeache, but they had their reasons.
They always cried about being hungry, and their stomachs hurting.
I tryied to stay strong for my family trying not cry, trying to be the father, because the real one was no place to be found.
But however I always end up doing it, but not in their faces. My room was my privite place to think things through and what moves do I have to make to get a meal.
My mother worked at Mcdonalds, where she didn't make much. Some days we ate good when the food was free or when she recieved a bonus.
Then she turned to the streets, giving her precious goods away just to keep a roof over top her kids head.
She was caring and did anything that she could. Then she lost her Mcdonalds job because of too many days missed.
One day she came home to see me and my sibblings setting on the steps of our home, with our important things that we thought were important ( a ripped up doll, a broken phone, a bag full of nothing). Yeah we were poor, but not... yeah we were poor I wouldnt say... I wouldn't say we were poor until now, we were evicted from the only thing that we had left.
My mom walked to the corner of the block to use a pay phone to call my aunt kina who cared nothing about us but being maids. She lived in Miami, she is a play director, you know the ones who got paid millions, because they sell out on tickets she was one of them; Anyway she said she would send us some tickets to get to Miami eventhough she doesn't wants to help. But I know there's a soft spot somewhere in her heart. If it wasn't why would she be helping out. I can't wait to touch down in what people call the party state.
