Rant 17 - Taylor Swift

So I actually quite like Taylor swifts music, its the catchy, usual cheerful stuff that makes you feel happy or sing along, I admire Taylor for the music she has created and everything she has achieved but there's a few things I really dont like about Taylor herself. 

While she insists that her music is art and she should always be paid for it, she has sued her own fans for making fan art on Etsy, their art is inspired by her and her music but because she's not making any money off of something based on her, she wont allow it to happen. So now since she has trademarked 'Shake it off', creators are unable to create mugs, shirts and other item in fear of repercussions from Taylors legal team. 

She claims that she is a feminist yet she hates on and disrespects a lot of other women, you should be helping empower women not dragging them down. If you want to see what a real feminist is like, go take a look at Emma Watson, there is somebody who fights for gender equality and female rights. Taylor is a woman who has built a career on slut shaming other women, bashing her exes and singing in songs about things that imply wearing short skirts and high heels makes you a slut. But I have a lot of respect to the fact that she has supported over 30 charities including UNICEF and the Make A Wish Foundation.

She didn't release her album 1989 on Spotify because having it free on Spotify would lower her album sales, so by doing this it increased album and CD sales making her even more money. 

So Kanye West wrote a song and included Taylor in the lyrics, but before he debuts the song he gets Taylors approval in an hour long phone call in which they discuss and laugh about the lyrics that included Taylor. So fast forward to when the track 'Famous' is released, Taylor's team completely deny that Kanye got the approval in the first place stating that Taylor did not know that the lyrics would include the line 'I made that bitch famous'. 

So fast forward a couple of weeks and Taylor takes a swipe at Kanye at the Grammy Awards and plays the victim like she always does. Fast forward another few months and Kim Kardashian, wife of Kanye gets involved in the whole fiasco basically backing up Kanyes version of events, but it didn't stop there, Kim also claimed that the whole original phone call between Kanye and Taylor had been recorded. Fast forward to some more crap and eventually Kim released the footage of the phone call, pretty much turned out that Taylor and crew had lied about the whole thing to gain more attention as the victim.

So anyway I'm going to leave this rant here.
