-Big Longer One Shot -

Raen (Ray-Ann) finds herself put in a situation with an enemy dying on the floor.

He starts talking to his younger teammate, who he doesn't realize abandoned him. Raen finds herself pretending to be his friend, just so he can pass on peacefully. And the man begins talking, just to try and stay awake, he talks about how he feels, and what it's like to know you have minutes to live. He starts listing things he regrets, stuff he realizes that should've been done a long time ago.

The man passes on, leaving Raen with a heavy heart, and an audio recording of the ordeal. She then devises a plan to help the man rest in peace. And it involves granting his dying wish... list.

First things first, she allows herself to get kidnapped by the enemy.

This was it, the file we'd been searching for.

The device already sits on the floor next to the desk, been there sense I began the search. I pull out the file, and close the drawer, crouching behind the desk for cover. Pulling my phone out, I press record, then continue, pulling papers out, going through them, quickly, taking shots so I can examine them further later.

I hear a gunshot, then another three in rapid succession, getting closer to the office I'm in, then yelling, too muffled to understand. I try and hurry up, but it's a slow process. The door bangs open and I freeze, just about dropping the items I'm holding.

I quietly set them down, and peek over the desk, an older man and a younger boy, both from the enemy's side, I curse under my breath at my misfortune. The boy let's his superior go, and the guy drops like dead weight, hand already on his gun the boy throws the door back open before the old guy even hits the ground and shoots once. A scream, from outside the room, he fires again and it stops, the boy wipes his brow with the back of his arm and kneels down to check the older dude.

Turning back to the old guy, I quickly realize he's all bloody.

"Kid..." The old man speaks up, his voice hoarse.

"Hey, old man, you a-ok?" The boy speaks loudly, and acts like he's going to check for a pulse, but retracts his hand and looks away. "Hey, don't worry, I can call the head prick-"

"Communications are down" The man let's out a long breath, and it's quiet for a long time. I take the time given to look them over, the man has to be in his late forties, early fifties, the kid's a late teen or early twenties. "I'm dying kid."

"No. No, no, don't worry.... I'll... I can't help you, but I'll go get help and-" His frantic voice cuts through the silence, still really loudly, as he backs away a bit from the body.

"It's too late for me." He gasps in air, like for a second he couldn't breath, then a moment later regains his breath. "I'm going to die. I'm dying, right now, I can feel it..."

The boy finally glances back over at the mans body, that sits at least a foot away from him, then looks away again. This time he mutters, hardly loud enough for me to hear, "Well if it's too late, then your already dead. Guess there really isn't a need for help..." Then back to being really loud, "I'm gonna go finish the mission-"

"No! No, please!" The man frantically reaches out, trying to grab his partner, but the boy shoots up, and backs up out of reach, with a disgusted and panicked look about him. "Please don't leave me, I can't see a thing, and I can hardly hear you- I-I'm begging you, please, just stay with me until I die! I-I'm scared kid! This-!"

The boy backs up, then walks out of the room, while the man keeps talking, begging, he spares a last glance then takes off running.

I watch wide eyed, the man finishes his speech and quiets, the only sound is him softly sobbing. I figure he realizes his partner ditched him until he speaks up again, "Please?!"
