I have a poetry thing coming up at my church and the theme is "bring your faith, doubt, and your story" and I'm gonna read this along with a couple other poems I've written so I hope ya like it
Hey sorry to bother you but there's a bunch of people suffering down here
With all the stuff going on I'm starting to wonder
Are you even there?
I mean of course you would help out a little
Right?
You're probably just busy with other things
Making sure two of the same kind of people stay out of the same bed right
Yeah
Hunger can wait
Dying children can wait
Cancer can wait
Humanity can wait
I guess I'll just sit here then
And wait...
But hold on
I could probably help you out a little
I can feed some people
Donate some stuff
Take some of the load off
Some other people could probably help too
We could clean up the community a little
Instead of waiting I'll work
By the time we're done you might not have as much to do
Or is it the other way around?
You show us how to help ourselves so we don't have to wait
We won't have to wait for something or someone that might not even be there
