The First Time

The first time I laid my eyes on you I fell in love with you

The first time you told me you love me my heart skipped a beat

The first time you told me we're perfect for each other, I almost fainted

But you know

Everything has first times right?

Even the first time you told me this isn't working out

Even the first time you told me you love someone else

I almost died

But no one noticed

Because it was the first time I ever fell in love and I realized that he wasn't the right one

He was just the cement on the floor of a house that was not even 1% built

And I'm glad that he was my first time
