Once we step foot out onto the roof a chill ran down my spine. It was a little cold out, but the sky looked so beautiful. There were so many stars that you weren't able to see back in London due to the city lights. Harry begins walking across a glass roof that looked down upon the hotel. "You coming?" He asks me. He stuck out his hand, "Do you trust me?"
I didn't give a second thought, I took his hand and he lead me to the middle of the glass. Then he laid down, I laid beside him. We stayed quiet, watching the sky.
"What happened between you and your sister?" He asks me after a while of laying there. "It's a secret," I tell him. I just knew I sounded silly, what am I? In elementary school?
"Well, what's the secret? I'm good at keeping them," I shake my head laughing. "That's the thing about secrets, you have to be good at keeping them." Harry shrugged, then I began telling what happened. "I was twenty, you know about my ex-fiancé." I began, Harry nodded and I started telling Harry what had happened from where I left off last time. The memory came to me all to well.
Music filled my ears, I was surprised the neighbors hadn't called the police. Then again my parents warned them about my sisters big party to celebrate her birthday. I walked around handing out drinks and snacks, everyone was dancing a little to seductively. My mom grabbed my hand and pulled me to the side. "Go get your sister, I think she went to her room with Spencer. It's time for birthday cake," I let out a groan.
I didn't even want to be attending this party. I had just lost my fiancé, and my parents idea to get me over it was helping throw my sister a birthday party. I would rather be curled up watching Netflix and eating ice cream. I should be on my honeymoon in Paris, I know it sounds cliché. I put down the plate I was carrying and made my way to my sisters room. First I knock on the door, there was no reply. So, I opened the door and I'm greeted with Spencer, Cassidy's boyfriend, but not Cassidy. He was kissing some other girl!
"Get out!" I scream at the girl. She looks at me and scrambles out of the room. "Woah, Mary! That wasn't me, she just pushed herself onto me." I begin nodding my head. "I know cheater when I see one! I'm telling my sister," I begin walking out the door but Spencer grabs my hand and yanks me in the door slamming the door shut. "And who will she believe, me or you?" He questioned. I was confused as to what he said. I never got time to reply, he shoved his lips onto mine and pushed me on the bed.
He started ripping off my clothes. Was this the end? Was I just going to get raped and no one could help me? I tried screaming but Spencer only shoved a shirt in my mouth. He was being rough, kissing my body roughly while I tried pushing him off. Tears started to go down my face, no one could help me.
He flips us over so I'm on top of him, then he pulls the shirt out of my mouth and kisses me roughly. The door slams open and Spencer pushes me off of him. "Cassidy, I can explain! She came in here and just pushed me on the bed and made out with me!" My eyes go wide as I turn around. My sister stood there, tears in her eyes.
"No Cassidy! It wasn't that, he was trying to rape me!" I cry out motioning to my cloths. "God, your such a slut Mary. Spencer wouldn't cheat on me, I thought you were my sister!" She ran out of the room. I wanted to go after her but I was in my bra and underwear.
I should've stayed home, I shouldn't have came to Cassidy's room. I hear Spencer snicker behind me. "Why would you do that to me?" I yell at him. "Because it's fun," he says with a smirk.
I started crying all over again. Just the thought of Spencer hurt me, Harry hugged me as I cried into his shirt. Harry started mumbling things to me, I understood none of it but it calmed me. "What about you?" I ask him, "What's your secret?"
Harry is silent for a moment or two, he gazes at the sky and I want to know what he is thinking. "My father left my mom, Gemma, and I when I was twelve. We were struggling so much, my mom never told Gemma and I why he left so suddenly. We just remembered him by our caring, loving father. My mom had started working three jobs to supply for Gemma and I's needs, soon Gemma started working when she was old enough. I think Gemma knew eventually what happened between our parents, but I never found out till the last time I saw my mom. Around age sixteen my mom started seeing this guy named Robin, he moved in with my family and my mom quite all of her jobs to stay at home. They got married shortly after and I just hated Robin. I always thought my dad would come back, each day I watched the door praying for him to come back. Robin tried to fill the holes of my dad but I continued hating him. At age seventeen my dad got into contact with me, he was struggling with money and he knew I had a job. I began stealing money from my moms purse and giving him my pay checks. The only times I saw my dad was to give him his checks, on a good day we would each lunch together with Madison. I never told Gemma nor my mom, one day when I had just turned eighteen Robin confronted me about money missing out of my moms wallet. He yelled at me and got in my face and I finally snapped. I almost hit Robin until my mom got in the way. I vented my feelings about hating Robin and how my mom should just take my my dad. Then I told her how I had been seeing him for over a year and she was pissed." Harry went silent for a moment recollecting his thoughts.
"I told my mom I was upset and I needed to cool down. I called my dad to maybe stay at his place for awhile, I couldn't stay with Madison since she had just left on some graduation trip with her parents. A rehab place answered my dads phone. Hours later I came home to find out my dad was a drug and alcohol abuser, he used the money I gave him for drugs and alcohol. So I ran away from home, I moved to London and I remembered meeting a friend of Robin's who owned a business. He helped me get up and running and soon I became wealthy. I still, to this day, send home money to my mom and Robin yet I haven't spoken to them since."
Everything I ever thought of Harry vanished, all my hateful comments and hateful thoughts of him. He was a person as well, who had feelings. "That must have been rough," I tell him. I take his hand in mine, no longer caring for the fact that it was wrong. "You wanna go out and get some ice cream?" Harry asked me.
"Yeah, I know this awesome place!" I tell him. "Yeah, me too. It's called Frosty's Ice Cream," he tells me with a laugh in his voice. "I forgot, you use to live here as well." I say laughing. Harry helps me up and wraps his arms around me as we walk to the elevator.
Harry and I chose to walk to the ice cream shop instead of drive. It was only a couple blocks down, so it wasn't much walking. The entire time Harry kept his arm wrapped around me, and in that short time I pretending I was his girlfriend. I pretended that we were actually dating and we were craving ice cream so we just got some.
I was slightly surprised that Frosty's Ice Cream was still opened, but then again I remember all those times Perrie and I would go out late in high school to get ice cream. A guy was working the register when we walked in. Harry told him what he wanted then he looked at me, "Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, small." I told the guy. He walked over and begin making it.
"I need to use the restroom, here's some money to pay for the meal." Harry said handing me some cash. I didn't bother to argue since it wouldn't be good for me in the end. So I just nodded my head and Harry went into the back to the restroom. I heard the door ring and I turn to see a couple older than me stand in line.
"Hello, how are you darling?" The lady asked me. She looked old enough to be my mom. "I'm doing just fine," I tell her with a smile. The guy had just finished making Harry and I's ice cream so I could pay for it. "Oh, hun, allow my husband and I to pay for you and your boyfriends ice cream." The lady interrupted me as I went to pay.
"Are you sure?" I ask her, "Of course!" They both order their ice cream and the guy starts to make theirs. Should I have just paid Harry and I's ice cream? Then again she offered.
"I'm Anne, by the way." The lady told me, "I'm Mary!" I tell her with a smile. She pays for our ice cream, "Have a nice night!" She offers then leaves with her husband. I'm left shocked as Harry comes out.
"Did you pay?" He asks me. "No, someone else did." I tell him, Harry shrugs it off and takes his ice cream. Yet, I couldn't shake off the fact that someone was so kind to do that.
