It was afternoon by the time I got out of the guest suite. Boy, did I really sleep that long! To say that Rumi wasn't happy by my absence would be an understatement!

She was literally fuming with smoke as I entered the living room. I had already prepared an excellent lie which could help me escape from the impending blast I was about to face. I decided to tell her that I was out with Taylor in the gardens.

It was apparently the best lie I could come up with because Rumi knew that I was always with Taylor and the gardens were my most favourite place in this mansion.

But my proud moment vanished the moment I gave her my oscar worthy performance. Because apparently, Taylor had returned shortly after lunch, totally unaware of where I was and the whole of the gardens were searched only to find out that I wasn't there.

Clearly you were announced wrongly!

But that wasn't what upset me. Father had brought some important guests over for lunch to introduce me as the heir to take over Anderson companies. And when they found out that I was missing in the perimeter, father had to lie to them about my absence, causing them to doubt his judgement of decision to hand over such great responsibility to me.

Tears formed in my eyes as Rumi continued to lash out on how disrespected Father felt and it was all because of me! She gave me one last glare before leaving me alone in the kitchen.

I wiped off the tear from my eye and pulled out a brown basket from under one of the counters. Taking all that I needed, I stormed out of the house to the one place that could help me dispose off all of my unwanted emotions.

"Um uhah upm ufmumn." The white duck that swam towards me in the pond, stopped and stared at me like I had gone mad. What I meant to say was that I was really disappointed in myself for making father sad. But due to the extraordinarily large and extremely delicious chocolate cake that was stuffed down my tiny mouth, I probably sounded like a groovy monster trying to scare people away. But trust me duck, I am a 100 percent sane!

Yeah, that's why you are talking to a duck!

Shut up! He is a really good listener unlike you who always has something to say about me! "Aren't you ducky?"

He still stared at me, blinking his eyes as he tilted his head as if to look at me from a different angle. I pinched a bit of the bread that I had in my hand and threw it into the pond. The ducky quickly grabbed the food with his beak and swam faster than I could say 'duck.'

"Or maybe he was just eyeing the food in my hand." I sighed and put another piece of bread into my mouth.

Wow! He really seems like a great listener. We should have interesting conversations more often!
