Anthony's p.o.v.***
My phone rung and it was Alisha's mom. I thought she was probably looking for Alisha. She would always call my phone if she couldn't get in touch with her. This time that wasn't the case. She had called because Alsiha had been in a terrible car accident and she was in the hospital unresponsive. I'm so glad I was able to drive again because I wasted no time grabbing everything I needed and running out the door.I made it to the hospital in fifteen minutes and entered through the back. I asked the lady at the desk where I could find Alisha and she gave me the directions to get to her. I didn't see her mom, her brothers, or anybody on the way there. When I made it to her room I went in. The room was quite. I walked to her bed and I saw some dude sitting there holding her hand. When I spoke and introduced myself to him he gave me a crazy look and a dry "was up." I had never seen him before and I was wondering who he could be. Alisha hadn't told me she was seeing anybody. I watched as he kissed her cheek and left the room.
I was furious about the fact that he was even there. Alisha was my best friend and she would have told me if she was seeing somebody. I guess I didnt have any right to be mad. I mean, I wasn't her man even though I wanted to be.
I couldn't help but feel sour and jealous on the inside knowing that the woman I loved was laying here in this situation and with another man by her side. Im here now, I said to myself. I wanted to break down, but I know I had to be strong for her and for her her mom.
After several minutes of gathering myself I took a seat. I held her hand and I couldn't hold back anymore. I broke down.
"Alisha, this is Ant, I don't know if you can hear me, but you mean everything to me. I should have been told you this along time ago. I have loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you. Back when we were in school I always wanted you, but you never seemed interested so I didn't approach you. W-when we reconnected at the interview ten years ago the same feelings came flooding back like they never left. After all those years of missing you and wondering where you could be, I was so happy to see you. I need you to make it. I need you to pull through. We have a business to run and we make such a good team." I laughed a little after saying that. I kissed her hand. "Best friend I just need you to be ok.
I sat there and let it all out. Not knowing how things would be from that point on, I took a chance anyway. I told her everything that I had been wanting to tell her about how I felt about her. I didn't know if she could hear me or not, but I told her anyway.
I left the hospital a few hours later. Needing to find out who this guy was, I searched her social media for answers. I found nothing. There was no trail of him. I wasn't about to give Alisha up that easy and not with out a fight.
Brad's p.o.v.***
After leaving the hospital I headed to the house. I sat in my study after sending information to find out who this guy was that was coming to see my girl. I found out that his name was Anthony Davis and he had been working for Alisha for ten years. They went to school together and they were "best friends."The look on his face in the hospital gave away the fact that he wanted to be more, I said to myself. Once I got the info I needed I created a file on dude.
Alisha was all that was on my mind. I couldn't even get any work done. I hoped and prayed that she remembered who I was and the time we spent together. The battle of loving her was getting real. It had been two days since her accident and she still hadn't waken up. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't eat, work, or sleep. I needed her. I had been to visit her everyday. I would sit and talk to her as much as I could. The nurses knew me by name because I was there so much.
Two Days Later...
I went in to work this morning. The day was going by good. I did my morning call to check on Alsiha until later when I would go to visit. Everything was still the same although her breathing had gotten stronger. I finished my normal routine after I got off the call with the nurse.
