Next day at school was hectic. Being absent for three consecutive days earned me a good lot of work. Kelly helped me out a lot. But it wasn't exactly enough and so I had to call her home the very day.
Somehow she was at edge the whole time, it could have been some personal problem. If she was willing to share, she will. I wasn't the one to pressurise.
I sat with my chemistry homework, reading out the equations, their reactions and observations. Biting the end of my pen and twirling a strand of my messy hair with the free hand, I sat their drivelling off to space.
I needed a break from all this but again, didn't I have enough? My mind wheels back to the last night's incident and my body grows warm. It was almost obvious what Sebastian's feelings were for me but again I couldn't really believe it still. I was so contradicted with myself.
Groaning, I clutch the messy abyss of my dark hair. A shrill melody sails through the room and I rush to the door to open it.
Upon letting the door wide open, I meet with the familiar ebony hued hair and the warm smile of my best friend.
''Kelly! Come on in !'' I say.
Kelly follows me in and we settle down in our room. I pool my blanket to one side of the bed, making space for her to sit. She had on a cerulean blue top and black leather corduroy. While she was in a jazz, I had on an auriferous onesie.
Comfortable much?
'' What are you working on ?'' Kelly asks nonchalantly.
''Just chemistry homework.'' I reply.
''Alright! So did you finish your project on the Julius Caesar?'' She inquires .
I face palm myself.
''Arrgh..I almost forgot.'' I wail.
Finishing off the last equation, I pull out my literature book.
''The good part is, we have to watch the movie. That is so cool since we get to watch the blood pooling out of Ceasar during the murder!'' Kelly announces.
''And the ridiculous faces of Brutus, Cassius and others!'' I laugh along with her.
We sort to friendship on such irrelevant ideas, we laugh on ludicrous matters and help each other out. Yet, we are complete opposites. She could be the north pole, I could be the south pole of a magnet. It's funny how this is shown in our blood. While she is A positive, I on the other hand is A negative. We have been good friends for a while, a lot close. It is quite something, since I don't really make a lot of friends. Acquaintances, yes but best friends, not really.
''Ah, can I ask you a question?'' Kelly appeals.
''Sure, go ahead!'' I retort.
Kelly usually wasn't like this, something must be really up.
''Well, are you with Sebastian?'', she asks.
'' What do you mean?'' I ask nervously.
''As in are you guys together?'' Kelly asks again.
I myself didn't know, what was I supposed to say?
''No, of course not!'', I answer quickly.
Her suspicion was clearly written in her face and that, she did not believe me.
''I have seen the way he looks at you, I think he has a thing for you'' Kelly enunciates.
''That can't be!'' I shake my head vigorously from side to side.
Even I myself didn't truly want to believe as my voice came out more stronger than I anticipated.
