Two groups of people emerged from the shadows, walking towards each other in the junkyard, each group showing off the symbol of Sanguine or Chained. The crowd erupted into shouts and cheers, and a masked man wearing neutral colors stood between the two gangs, raising his hands to silent the crowd.
"Jay Jay and Phantom, get over here," the two gang leaders stepped forward, Jay Jay several inches shorter than Phantom, "I want a clean brawl, no dirty moves. And if anyone fires off a gun, I'll find you before the police does. You two ready?"
After the two nodded, taking aggressive stances, the announcer counted down, yelling out for the two to start. As the crowd screamed, the two attacked each other, landing blow after blow. Although Phantom was lanky and skinny, he proved to be a good fighter, hitting Jay Jay more times than the shorter man could hit him. Really, both couldn't be older than eighteen, but they both had a strong, demanding air about them. Phantom kicked Jay Jay in the knees, making the shorter fall, and pinned him to the ground. The fight was over, and the crowd was cheering and chanting Phantom's name.
"Chained's Phantom is the winner, no duh. You put up a good fight though, man" the announcer patted Jay Jay's back as the man got up, groaning as he did.
The crowd dispersed around the junkyard, chatting and buying drinks that the gang members were selling. Yoongi wandered around the junkyard, looking for either of the gang leaders. As he was rather distracted, he bumped into one of Chained's members, making them spill their beer all over their chest.
"What the fuck?" they growled, shoving Yoongi backwards harshly.
The force of the man shoving him knocked Yoongi's hood off, and he glared at the man, "It wasn't on purpose, asshat."
Yoongi's sharp words only angered the man, shoving Yoongi yet again, "You're gonna pay for this, I don't care if you're a girl."
As the man pulled back his hand to punch Yoongi and the teen reached into his bag to grab his taser, someone jumped between the two and grabbed the man's arm before he could get it anywhere near Yoongi's face.
A low voice, muffled by a mask, came from the person in front of Yoongi, "Chill, man. I'm sure it was on accident."The Chained member growled, "Mind your own business, Jay Jay."
Yoongi froze as he realized that the person trying to defend him was no other than Sanguine's leader. The two's loud voices attracted the attention of those nearby, and a couple of Chained members approached them, standing intimidatingly behind the first.
"Just back off" Jay Jay said coolly, but his response only made the Chained member's more irritated.
Turning slightly towards Yoongi, the hooded leader said quietly, "Picking a fight with them would be a bad idea, but I know they're not gonna back down. When I give you a signal, run as fast as you can to your left, behind that wall of junk, okay?"
After Yoongi nodded sharply, Jay Jay turned back to the Chained members. He dashed forward, kicking the first in the chest, and yelling "Now!" to Yoongi. The ravenet sprinted towards the left, shoving people out of his way as he ran. Really, it was best for him to let Jay Jay do the fighting for him, as Yoongi didn't want any unnecessary attention drawn to him. Crouching behind the pile of junk, Yoongi listened carefully, hearing the sounds of the fight. He held his breath as the fighting sounds got louder, and fast footsteps drew near. As the footsteps got louder, Yoongi took a fighting position, not knowing who it would be.
Whoever it was grabbed Yoongi's arm and started running away from the junkyard, taking Yoongi with them. With a shout of protest, Yoongi repeatedly hit the person in the back, trying to make them let go."It's Jay Jay,cutie! We're heading to a safe place," they hissed, making Yoongi stop his actions and keep running.
In time, they reached the other side of town, and Jay Jay's pace slowed down, grip still tight on Yoongi's wrist. The ravenet was curious as to why the leader of Sanguine wanted to help him, but was grateful
nonetheless. If he was willing to step between Yoongi and an angry Chained member, it should be easy for Yoongi to get close and unmask him."They won't follow us into our territory," Jay Jay let go of Yoongi's wrist, continuing in a cheerful voice, "So, does a pretty girl like you have a name?"
Yoongi knew he wouldn't get anywhere without Jay Jay's trust, "Yoonji. I assume that you're Jay Jay?"
The masked man put his hands up in a joking surrender, laughing lightly, "You caught me. I'd recommend staying away from Chained's terriorty and any more fights from now on."
"I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself," Yoongi replied in a coy tone, making Jay Jay laugh again.
"So sassy. Can I walk you home?" Of course Yoongi accepted, knowing it would be best to stay on Jay Jay's good side and let him thin he wasn't as strong as he really was.
Luckily, Yoongi's apartment wasn't too far away, and they reached it quickly. As Jay Jay said his goodbye and started to walk away, Yoongi quickly grabbed his arm, not wanting to lose his opportunity.
"Will I see you again?"
Jay Jay shrugged, "Maybe."
With that, the gang leader melted into the shadows, leaving Yoongi alone in front of his apartment building, silently hoping all the stress from the night would end up helping him complete his mission.
Monday rolled around, and Hoseok was waiting by the school gates for Yoongi, Once he spotted the ravenet, Hoseok's grin widened, and the two walked into the school together.
"How was your weekend, Yoonji?" Hoseok asked, Yoongi noticing his too casual tone immediately.
Shrugging, Yoongi responded as calmly as possible, "It was normal. How about yours? Did you go out?"
The orange haired boy was quiet for a few seconds, eyes darting around, "Uhm, no. Oh, there's Namjoon! See you in homeroom, Yoonji!"
Yoongi watched curiously as Hoseok sped away, plenty of suspicious thoughts floating around his head. However, he didn't have any concrete evidence to prove anything, and he knew he would have to do some more digging for information.
