Chapter Tweny-Eight: Ohana Means Family

"Miracle!" Lillie's green eyes are filled with tears as she runs over to Miracle.
"Wake up! Please! Wake up!"

Whelp.
Miracle was a very sweet girl-
 
"I'M GONNA KILL HER!" Nightshade yells, her whole body surrounded by pink flames.

Sweet, Arceus.
Just set the whole place on fire why don't you.

Lusamine shrugs at them, "She won't be doing that anytime soon. It's a real shame."

Rudy's ears flatten and he begins to pace around, mumbling things under his breath.

This is great.
I can't think of a better outcome.

I look back at Miracle and see that Hau is trying to sneak away with Cosmog.

"Put that down!" Gladion yells causing Hau to jump and drop the box.

Lusamine smiles, "Gladion, you smart boy!" She gives Gladion a long look; it's the kind of look only a mother can give when commanding her child.

Gladion shakes his head, "I'm not giving you Cosmog."

There's that smile again. "Oh. You wouldn't want Hau to end up like Miracle, would you?"

Does she just go around...killing children?

Nightshade growls, "That's it. Isabelle, what are you doing? We have to fight!"

I glance over at Miracle and Lillie and Nightshade pulls my face back to hers, "Listen. We can worry about her once we deal with Lusamine. If she's trying to attack us while we run away, we won't make any progress. I can deal with the Clefable."

I pull my face away from hers, "I'm pretty sure Miracle is either dead or dying...I really don't think we can 'worry about her later'"

She completely ignores me and uses Sludge Bomb on the Clefable.

"Why did you do that!?" I yell.

Lusamine glares at us angrily, "Even your Pokémon are horrible!"

"That's why." Nightshade states before leaping into battle.

Amid all of the fighting and yelling, I make my way over to Lillie.

Snowball is surrounding them with a light pink aura, Heal Pulse.

I don't think a Heal Pulse can fix the large gash in her back but, hey, what do I know?
 
It seems that her Heal Pulse made all of the blood go away but...

Wait.
Heal Pulse can do that?
Why am I questioning this now.
 
Lillie is cradling Miracle's head in her lap and is rocking back and forth.

I look at Miracle, who is alive, but barely. It took me a while to make sure she was breathing.

Her body is surprisingly unharmed, apart from the wound on her back and the random gash on her abdomen.

"Where did that come from?" I ask.

Snowball glaces at me and twitches her ears, "I don't know." She mumbles.

"Are you okay?"

She gives me a confused look, "What do you mean are you okay? Aren't you worried? Miracle could've died!"

I push her away from me, "Of course I'm worried! But she didn't die so I don't have to be that worried."

I think I just lost brain cells.
And those words came out of my mouth.

"That's one of the stupidest things I have ever heard you say."
She sits back down and sighs, "I wish I could fight. Maybe I would have been able to do something."
