He had been spotted. Terrance put his fist into his mouth as he thought of the incident in the gas station. She definitely saw me, he thought. She probably already called the police by now. Terrance looked into his rear view mirror-clear. He drove for hours, mostly in circles because of the paranoia of being caught every time he saw a police car. He was just about to drive into the town of Surdrop, in Tacoma, when the car started to slow down.

"No no don't die on me now!" He screamed as the gas in the tank disappeared.

"Worthless!" he screamed as he slammed his hand on the wheel.

He had to find another way out. He hopped out of the car, and threw the keys to the floor. He stepped on them with a heavy foot and the key broke. Then, he heard it.

From a distance, there was a sound coming- a sound of sirens, a police car. Terrance held his breath and looked around frantically. There was nowhere to go, only the woods a few yards away. Weighing his options, Terrance bolted into the woods, frantic for his survival and freedom. The sun was beginning to set, and in the cold January air, about 10 minutes later, it was pitch black. The wind started to howl madly. The twigs and crackling leaves made a loud noise when Terrance stepped on them. Only a bit of earth was to be seen through the soil, leaves and twigs. The evergreen pines stood monstrously above Terrance as he strode through the woods. The chill from the air began to feel unbearable as Terrance started shivering and sulking. His body began to feel weak from exhaustion, and he stumbled-then fell. Too weak to get up, he gave in and passed out- the world blackening before him, as the night grew longer.

When he awoke, the stars were brightly lit up in the night. Feeling stronger, he hoisted himself up and began walking aimlessly again. He walked for  a few more miles, until he saw something tall and pointed beyond the trees. It was a roof, a blue roof with a white lining- a house. Eager to get to the house, Terrance dragged his body on, until he was close enough to see the whole house in view. It was about 3 stories high, with a dim yellow light coming from the back.

Someone's home, Terrance thought to himself. "Here comes an uninvited guest" he smartly remarked. His body was weak, fragile, and his need to escape, growing. He walked slowly forward to the part of the house that was lit. And then, he saw it.
