The Joshifrax Chronicles

Chapter Six

Its morning, Jeffrey is the first to wake up. He sees Vae and The Cleaning Lady laying on the rug. He covers them up with his blanket. His stomach grumbles. He walks to the kitchen and finds some flour. Jeff grabs a pot and heads outside. He fills it with fresh snow and walks back inside. He lights the stove with a match and sets the pot on it. Eventually, the snow melts to water. He grabs a bowl and pours some of the water and flour in it. He stirs it and pours it onto a pan. After a little bit, he flips the pancake that formed. He makes like 10 pancakes. Vae wakes up in pain, from sleeping on the floor. She notices the food Jeff made and smiles. She grabs a plate of 2 pancakes and taps The Cleaning Lady's shoulder.

"Wake up." Vae says.

"Bleach? You're breaking up with me? But I need you for cleaning. How am I going to impress my friends now? Without you I'm so lost.", The Cleaning Lady says, half asleep.

"Breakfast is ready." Vae says, trying not to laugh. The Cleaning Lady opens her eyes and takes her plate. She starts eating, still laying on the rug. Vae grabs her own plate and sits next to Jeff, who's already eating, on the couch. Vae takes a bite and enjoys the fluffy texture. Josh and Perci's door opens. The two walk out of their room, holding hands. They notice the food and each take a plate. Perci grabs his maple syrup.

"Wait you had maple syrup? I didn't see it. Can we have some of that?" Jeff asks. Perci passes the maple syrup. Everyone passes it around and pours the maple goodness on their pancakes.

"Thank you for making breakfast, Jeffrey. I know you barely know us but you did it anyways. I appreciate it." Vae says.

"Same.", Josh, Percifrax, and The Cleaning Lady says.

"You're welcome. I'm glad you guys like it." Jeff replies. Everyone finishes eating and The Cleaning Lady cleans the plates.

"Lets all go for a walk." Josh says. Everyone nods. They walk outside. They journey to a frozen lake. Perci notices a small flower that for some reason grew in the snow and picks it. He hands the flower to Josh.

"Aww Perci, its beautiful. Thanks.", Josh exclaims.

"Not as beautiful as you, my Josh." Perci replies. They walk out onto the ice. The ice around Josh's feet begin to crack. Josh falls into the lake.

"Ahh, Perci! Vae! Someone! Help me!", Josh screams.

"This is not perfect at all", Perci says. Perci reaches to grab Josh's hand but falls in as well. They huddle together for warmth, in the water. They begin to sink.

"Vae! Cleaning Lady!" Perci manages to yell before they sink. Perci and Josh bump heads in panic. Josh's forehead begins hurting.

"Anywhere but here!", Josh thinks. Vae, Jeffrey and The Cleaning Lady are sitting in a circle, talking about Nekcihc. They don't hear the screams. Josh's forehead begins giving birth. He can feel the pain but at the same time its kinda numb from the frigid temperatures. Perci notices the birthing.

"Where are Josh and Perci?", Vae asks her friends.

"I don't know. Oh my god?! Were they kidnapped?" The Cleaning Lady replies. Vae sees a hole in the ice with bubbles forming at the surface. Vae drives in, with no fear. Vae sees them drowning and grabs them. She drags them to the surface, with a leg sticking out of Josh's head. Josh and Perci are unconscious. Vae starts panicking.

"Noo, I can't lose you guys!", Vae screams. Vae grabs Josh and Jeff grabs Perci. They make it back to the cottage. They change them into dry clothes. Vae pushes on their stomachs. Water shoots out of their mouths. Perci wakes up.

"We've got to get this person out of him!" Perci exclaims, out of breath. The 4 of them work to get whoever is stuck in Josh's head out. It turns out to be a man. Vae hands him some clothes.

"Welcome! What's your name?" Vae asks.

"Phoebe.", The man says.
