The Joshifrax Chronicles

Chapter Eight

They see stores in every direction. One store's name stood out from the others, 'Fish Casino'.

Percifrax points to it and says, "Lets go there!". They go inside. They see lots of fish tanks with digital fish in them and slot machines.

"Welcome! What's your sign?", they hear over the loud speaker. A robot walks over to them with a tablet.

"Hello, I'm Tatsumaki, tell me your zodiac sign.", The robot says.

"Hey, I'm a Taurus.", Perci replies.

"Leo.", Josh says.

"Cancer.", Vae says.

"Gemini.", Phoebe says.

"Taurus.", The Cleaning Lady says.

"Virgo.", Jeffrey says.

"Thank you.", Tatsumaki replies. She then grabs each person's wrist and prints a bar-code on them.

"Welcome to my casino.", Vince says with excitement.

"I hear that you only own it cause of your rep.", The Cleaning Lady says.

"I do!", Vince screeches. They walk over to a tank. Josh scans his wrist on the machine and watches as a pixelated stick figure casts its fishing pole and fishes. A fish appears on the screen next to a plus one.

"Waow, that's cool!", Vae exclaims.

"Yea it is.", A man next to them replies. Vae turns to look at him.

"Well, hi, I'm Videm.", The man says.

"Nice name, I'm Vae.", Vae says. Videm stretches out his hand and shakes Vae's hand. They feel a surge of electricity run through their bodies. Suddenly, there's nothing but white and there's lots of screaming. Everyone faints. Vae opens her eyes and sees blackness. She realizes that she is wearing a blindfold and that her hands and legs are bound.

"Shit.", Vae thinks.

"Oh god.", She hears, in her head in a familiar voice.

"Interesting.", She says, in her mind.

"Indeed.", She hears, in her mind.

"Who are you?", Vae asks, in her mind.

"Videm, who are you?", She hears, in her mind. She remembers the name from 'Fish Casino'. She recalls the events that led her there.

"Vae, I remember you from earlier.", Vae replies, in her mind.

"It seems that our minds are linked.", Videm says, in his mind.

"Cool.", Vae replies, in her mind.

"Where are we?"

"I don't know, I'm blindfolded."

"Oh my god, same." They hear footsteps.

"Remove the blindfolds!", They hear a man yell. Vae and Videm can now see. They are right next to each other. They see the other six tied up as well.

"Hello, I'm Cow. I did my homework on you guys.", The half-cow, half-man looking thing says.

"Thanks to you Vae, I almost went deaf!", He says, while looking fiercely at Vae.

"And you two, Josh and Percifrax! You guys stole my meat!", He says, making a fist.

"You guys will pay for this!", He screams. Cow takes out a knife and begins sharpening it.

"Shit, what do we do?", Vae asks Videm, in her mind.

"I remember what happened when our hands touched. Maybe if we did something like that again, we can destroy him.", Videm replies, in his mind. Vae and Videm slowly inch closer to one another. Eventually, they are close enough. Their shoulders touch and they feel the electricity again. They both stare at Cow and lightning shoots out their eyes at Cow. Cow turns to ash. Around an hour later, they all finally wiggle out of their bindings. All 8 of them have a group hug. Videm sees a window and breaks it with a brick. Everyone climbs through. They see a beach.
