"Lara I kinda wanna stay home tonight. You three go ahead. I don't need to be there for another day anyway."
"Ok, but you have to be there two nights from now. That's your first time after your transformation. Got it?" Lara said. I nodded.
"Bye." The three of them said. I just waved. Ok time to find that witch. I grabbed my drawstring bag that was packed with supplies to last a night.
"Why aren't you with your sisters?" I turned around and there she was. I didn't even need to find her.
"You son of a-"
"Witch? Yeah, aren't you a bit to young to be using profanity?" She asked.
"And are you my mom? No, so I can do whatever I want."
"Teenagers these days." She said. I rolled my eyes. The Sea Witch had long strawberry blonde curls, freckles speckled in varied places on her face and shoulders, and icy blue eyes. She was probably in her early twenties; she definitely wasn't old.
"I only wanna see you for one reason: I want you to turn me human again." She was stifling a laugh until she couldn't hold it in.
"Darling, Lola, I can't do that! It's not physically possible. Your just gonna have to wait it out. I can't do anything until you have your first transformation, if at all." She said.
"But why?!" I whined. She shrugged.
"It's not my rules, I just follow them." Well she's no help.
"I see you're progressing quickly. Ah, the blue highlights are coming in."
"What?!" I took a strand of my hair and it was this marine blue. The book said nothing about this! My sisters don't have these! Mom and Dad will kill me if they think I dyed my hair.
"Don't worry, they'll go away. Also, if I were you, I'd just abandoned that friendship between you and that merman. It'll never work out."
"H-how do you know about that?" I asked.
"I know lots of things, darling. Don't ask how." I nodded.
"But we've known each other since we were 7. I can't just abandon him!"
"Well you'd have good reason if you found out what 'stuff' he was doing." I cocked my head.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Remember that girl Jackie Hollister?" I nodded.
"Well, your little guy friend hangs out with her, constantly. She's a mermaid, he's a merman, they are just meant for each other. And I think that they'll be dating before they are even 15. They obviously like one another." She explained as she picked at her neutral nail polish.
"He wouldn't do that." I told her, disbelief and anger in my voice.
"See for yourself. Tomorrow night go to the beach. To the cave, actually. By the rocks, you'll see them. Talking, laughing, having a good time."
"Fine! I'll prove you wrong!" I yelled.
"And I'll be here tomorrow at midnight." She told me.
"I'm not gonna transform."
"You can't help it. I have to say, you are the most stubborn siren I've worked with."
"I'm not a Siren!" I screamed!
"Bye, Lola." I ignored her. I took the pillow and screamed into it. I walked into my room and fell onto my bed, I drifted to sleep as the thoughts of what tomorrow would bring.
I'll try to publish the next chapter since this was so short. The chapter title was supposed to be a pun...it's not too clever though😂 once again, I'm sorry this is short. But guess what happened at my friend's house. We were making an infomercial for our slime we made while live streaming on Instagram. We said it doesn't even stick to surfaces and I throw it onto the ceiling. It got stuck. On the second time, it left a stain and we had to paint over it with white acrylic paint. It was hilarious. Luckily her parents didn't notice. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed.
