Avery stared at the floor as Pike gave a eulogy. Avery rested her head on her mom's shoulder as quiet tears flowed from her eyes. "I asked her to find this for me. For Bellamy." She told her mom.

"Who will speak for Gina Martin?" Her mom smiled, rubbing her arm as she stood up to go the front of the room. "Gina was real. She always saw the light, even here. She deserved better. May we meet again."

Just as she was going to set the Illiad on the table, guards came through the door, headed for Pike. "Just came in. We saw a whole encampment, 300 strong just behind the tree ridge. There's a bunch of them. It's Grounders. They're coming."

She walked to her mom, with furrowed brows. "Mom, what's happening?"

"Indra gathered up an army to protect us. It's okay, we're fine."

"What?" Bellamy asked. "They could attack at any time."

"They're not here to attack Bellamy, they're here to protect us." Willow reminded Bellamy as he stood up.

"Sir, are we under attack?" Monty's Mom asked as nearly everyone in the room stood up.

"No, we are not under attack. The Commander sent a peace keeping force to ensure that we can defend against any further attacks from the Ice Nation." Kane explained.

"Peace keeping force? Even you can't be that naïve, Marcus!" Pike shouted back.

"Watch your tone. You're talking to the next Chancellor. We're all grieving. This has been hard on all of us, but we can't let anger drive our policy." Willow warned.

"Anger is our policy!" He yelled back as he jumped back on stage. "Now if they're here to defend us, as you say, then tell them to go home. We can defend ourselves."

Someone pointed at Lincoln who was at the back of the room minding his own buisniss. "You! You don't belong here." He threw the rock, hitting the side of his head.

Bellamy and Avery sprinted to Lincoln as most of the people run to attack him. Avery walked Lincoln out of there. "We need to go to Medbay."

He shrugged Avery away but she still followed him outside. He dropped to one knee, and punched the wall before standing up again. "Ge smak daun, gyon op nodotaim." He said, letting Avery take him to medbay. Get knocked down, get back up again.

Abby was stiching Lincoln's head wound up with Avery, Pike and Kane watched. "No. No charges."

"Lincoln, we need to set an example." Kane encouraged.

"Yeah, we do."

"The man just lost his son, Marcus." Pike said.

"Lincoln didn't do that."

Octavia came rushing in, startling Avery for a second. "What happened?"

"Someone hit a rock at Lincoln at the memorial." Avery told her. "I was waiting for you to get here."

"Thank you Avery." Lincoln nodded. She pushed past Pike while leaving the room, rolling her eyes. "Do you have something to say?" Pike asked her.

"I have a lot of things to say but a moral compass that tells me that it's rude unlike someone. Maybe you should learn to control your people and how they act because that's what happens, people get hurt and I guarantee you it's not going to be just one person next time."

She walked away from Pike who stood shocked.

Bellamy, Pike, Gillmer, Hannah and several other walked to the gates with guns in their hands. Pike nodded to a guard and the gates opened.

Her, Lincoln, Monroe and Harper stepped in their way. "You need to step aside right now." Bellamy ordered Avery.

"What are the guns for?" Avery spoke, gripping her own gun.

"There's an army out there. We need to hit them before they hit us."

"That army was sent to protect us." Avery reminded him. The others stepped closer behind him.

"Do we have a problem?"

"No. I have always done what is best for us. I need you to trust that I'm doing that now." He said. "Monroe." Monroe walked away, following Bellamy. "Harper." Harper left. "Avery."

"I'm not moving. Neither is Lincoln."

Gillmer pulled a gun at her. "Get out of the way, Donavon." He spat as she stood, her breathing becoming faster.

Avery elbowed him in the face and whipped her leg under him, flooring him completely. Gillmer grabbed Avery's leg, pulling her down and punching her in the face but Lincoln pulled a knife out on Gillmer making everyone point their guns at him. "Put the guns down. Guns down!" Bellamy ordered as Avery stood up rubbing her side.

Everyone lowered their weapons, "So much for the good Grounder." Hanna commented.

"Quiet, Hannah." Pike ordered. "Whose people are you defending here, Lincoln?"

"Lincoln, put down the knife. No one has to get hurt here." Bellamy warned. "Avery, please, tell him."

Avery was trying to avoid eye contact with Bellamy but failed when he said her name. God, how this was going to work out. "You can't stop us." Bellamy repeated.

Octavia came running to Lincoln and Avery who was touching her bottom lip to find out it was bleeding. "What's wrong with you?" she asked her brother.

"Calm down, people. Farm Station, guns on the ground. On the ground!" Kane ordered, then going to Avery. "You're bleeding, go to med-bay."

"I'm fine." she replied.

"That was an order Donavon." Kane told her, she rolled her eyes making her way to medbay alone.

"What happened?" Jackson asked her.

"Just patch it up."

Avery put her vote in, knowing who was going to win anyways.

Just before Bellamy was going to leave she healt him behind. "Please don't do this. They're here to protect us."

"They could kill us at any time." he replied.

"Please Bell, I'm begging you. Don't kill them." Avery pleaded. "Please, do what's best for our people."

"I already am."

He pushed past Avery, who locked at him with a disgusted look.

This wasn't that man she fell in love with.

This was someone else, someone that she wanted to hate a lot but couldn't.
