Her cries were angelic. She could listen to them all day long through the thin walls of her Alexandria home. Unfortunately, that wasn't her position anymore. She clutched onto her baby sister like it was the last time she would ever see her, and perhaps it would be. Her skin was so soft, her face so divine. She could kiss her rounded cheeks for hours on end and the warm feeling in her heart would only build, until finally, she would explode. She wouldn't be able to take it anymore. Maybe, she thought, that's what would happen if she stayed in the room any longer. The walls were a baby blue color, along with the crib sheets and the mobile that hung above the bed. She pulled Judith close, her breath hitching in her chest, and she couldn't take it any longer.

Placing Judith in front of her, she took her tiny hands between her fingers and kissed her forehead, a tear hitting her fat cheeks. She wiped it gently from her face and smiled at the girl.

"I love you," she whispered, playing with the small child's fingers. Judith smiled and clasped her cheek, leaning into her big sister. She laid her on her chest and rested her chin atop her mussed hair. She then brought her lips down to the top of her head and planted a kiss.

The door opened, Negan humming as he placed Lucille over his shoulder, "could I get one of those?"

Her eyes shot up to the man with the bat. His leather jacket was gone, leaving him in a plain white tee. Her eyes trailed down his body as she picked up Judith and placed her in her crib. Judith reached her tiny hands out towards her sister, Vada taking them into her own, kissing each finger. Negan grinned, walking up to the crib and standing beside the girl. He waved down at Judith, making a face. Vada frowned and tilted away from the scene.

Negan leaned back, turning towards Vada. "What's wrong, sweetheart?"

Vada swallowed the lump in her throat and glanced at her sister who had sat down in her crib. She had her hands clasped around the bars of the crib, gazing up at the two adults.

"Um-" she trailed off, her lips parting as she gazed at her sister, "Judith has to sleep, we can't talk in here."

Walking out of the room, she took one last glance at the child, an evident frown on her face. She then stopped in the hallway and closed the door as Negan stepped over the threshold. Her eyes flickered up at him, tears brimming in the edges before hanging her head low and taking in a sharp breath of air.

"Woah," Negan made an O shape with his lips, holding his hands out, "what the fuck is wrong with you? You were all sunshine and rainbows shaving my goddamn face half an hour ago."

She glared at him, wiping a stray tear that fell onto her cheek. Negan gripped her arms gently and pulled her closer. "What's wrong, baby?"

She pushed him away roughly, crossing her arms over her chest. Shutting her eyes, she took an elongated breath. "Why? Why did you take me away from them Negan? My one-year-old sister, I mean she's one! Why did you take me away?" Her breath hitched in her throat, her heart pumping fast. The blood that rushed through her veins was now cold as she gripped the side of the railing, letting it support her weight.
