Chapter 28:...but now, I can

I pulled away from his tight grip.

"Alex, stop"

"What's wrong?"

"I don't want this."

I climbed out of the bed and pulled off the blanket on top of the covers and wrapped it around me.

"I'm gonna sleep on the sofa."

"Wait, don't go."

I ignored him and left the bedroom to camp out on the sofa in the next room.

The sofa was surprisingly soft, it was a lot better than the one I have at home.

Just as I made myself comfortable, Ricky entered and sat by my feet. He seems to always do that when I sleep on the sofa.

"What's going on?"

"I believe war is going on in places of the world"

He sighed, he knew he couldn't say things like that to me, i'd always reply with what I thought was a smartass answer.

"You know what I mean."

"Alex wants to 'get it on' with me"

His eyes darkened.

"Oh...wait there while I go kill him."

"No! He's drunk, maybe he doesn't mean it. I'm just gonna sleep here tonight while he sobers up."

"The truth comes out when you're drunk Jade."

"I guess..."

"Besides, you're still on love with Andy."

My eyes grew wide and my mouth opened and closed slightly like a fish. I was speechless, how did he know? I swear he's psychic.

"B-but how did you-"

He cut me off, chuckling.

"You could see it from space Jade. I've never known anyone to act the way you do around him without having feelings for them."

"Yeah well it doesn't matter, he's with Juliet."

"He's with her because he's sure that you're not interested. He feels the same way, I mean who hugs someone that lovingly and then kisses them on the forehead if they just saw you as a friend. And there was that time when I walked in on you before the party, he looked at you with such affection and was definitely about to kiss you."

"Are you telling me he's just using Juliet?!"

"Nope, he definitely fancies her, but you can still be in love with someone but fancy someone else, just like you would a celebrity, which in your case is Gerard Way."

He was right, I was a huge sucker for Gerard Way.

"Well what should I do?"

"End things with Alex before it goes any further."

"I can't do that, the guy gave me a kidney..."

"I know Jade, and he'll know that you'll appreciate for the rest of your life, but it's going to end in tears if he finds out how you feel about Andy and I'm pretty sure that he's starting to notice with the way he acted when he knew you were alone with him tonight."

"It's not like I don't have feelings for him...the ones I have for Andy are just stronger, i've had a lot more time to build up those emotions for him."

My eyes began to fill up with tears and Ricky pulled me into a comforting hug.

"I know Jade, you're the most honest person I know, you may try to hide some things such as your latest cuts, that's right I know, but when you speak the truth you eyes light up and glisten."

"Thanks Ricky, that means the world to me to hear that. But hey, if you knew about the cuts, why didn't you say something?"

"It's not my place to say, and I was hoping that you'd come to your senses on your own with a little silent support from me."

He winked at me and it had dawned on me that he actually had been supporting me a lot recently, by which I mean being a lot nicer and more comforting.

I smiled up him, wiping away a tear before yawning.

"Well it's really late, we should both get some sleep, we need to be back in the bus by 9AM so we can set off to the next venue."

"Ok, goodnight Ricky, thanks for the support, I'm gonna have to have a long hard think about this."

"You do that, but save it for tomorrow because now is the time for sleep. Goodnight sis."

He hugged me one final time and disappeared into his room, he could be a really great guy when he wanted to be, the rest of the time he was a total asshole, I couldn't help bit wonder where he had got those ideas from though, he must have a lot of experience, or just watch too many movies.

I curled up onto the sofa, closed my eyes and attempted to sleep.

At least two hours had gone by and I haden't slept a wink, every time I closed my eyes I saw Alex and Andy which filled me with guilt, I knew that there was no way that i'd be sleeping that night, I could just try and get a couple of hours sleep on the bus, I had to get used to sleeping there anyway.

Soon, the sun shone through the beige curtains, which got me wondering what time it was. I decided to check my phone which I had left on charge in the bedroom.

I crept across the room and reached the bedroom door which was slightly open. I peeked through to see if Alex was still asleep, but he wasn't in the bed and I couldn't see him around the room.

He must have been in the en suite.

I took the chance to run in and grab my phone but as soon as I reached the desk where my phone was laid, Alex came out wearing nothing but a towel around his waist and his skin glistening with water droplets.

"Jade! Good morning my beautiful girl."

"Morning Alex..."

I was pissed off at myself, with my luck I should have known that that was going to happen.

"I'm so sorry about last night, I went way too over the top with the whole being able to drink legally here."

He slowly walked towards me and lightly gripped my hands.

"Can you ever forgive me?"

I could tell that he truly meant it because his eyes were bright and hopeful, besides I couldn't stay mad at him when he was shirtless and his perfect muscular figure was clearly on display.

"I guess, who can stay mad at you when you're showing off that six pack."

I blushed, I couldn't believe I just said that.

Clearly satisfied with my response, he pulled me close to him and his lips met mine.

During the kiss everything that i'd been feeling all night came flooding back. I suddenly felt guilty again, especially after Rickys advice. I also thought about the next time he got drunk which would probably be every night seems as we'll be in the UK for the next couple of months.
