High by the beach
The wind was too strong as it made our hair blew to the other side. I glanced to my side as he smiled to me while tightening our grip—we had been walking along the beach with our hands intertwined.
Although it was still early, there beach was already almost full, well at a certain area of course.
"In a few more days, we'll be back to our hometown," he said with a sad tone. It was as if he didn't want to go home and stayed at Brooklyn instead.
So I just nodded my head slowly. "It's not like we won't meet again at the next month, right?" I watched as his lips slowly curling into a weak smile.
He took a deep breath. "Yeah..." was all he said before he turned to look at me. After a few seconds of silence, he stopped and held my shoulders. "Wendy, do you like cold water?"
I arched my brows. "What do you mean—?" and without himself answering, he lifted me up in a bridal-style and ran to the sea. "Jin! What are you doing—yah!"
There was a mischievous smirk plastered on his face before he dropped me down in the water. I screamed on top of my lungs once the cold water touched my frail body.
"KIM SEOKJIN!"
I could hear him laughing loudly in satisfaction. So I screamed his name one last time before I went down deeper in the sea.
"Oh god, Wendy, you're just so funny!" his laughter began to slowed down once he noticed something strange. "Wendy?" I could hear his heavy waves of steps as he moved forward to find me. "Wendy? Where are you?"
I was clearly hiding under a big rock that I found a few seconds ago, which was a little bit far from where he was.
"Wendy?!" he started to get worried, so he crouched down and dipped his hands in the water. "Yah, this is not funny..." he turned around his head side to side with anxious and yet I hadn't showed up. "...does she know how to swim?" he talked to himself.
He pushed his hair to the back in frustration as his other hand was at his hip. Then he kicked the water and searched for me around his circle.
I saw guilt written on his face and surprisingly, I saw a tear trickled down his eyes—however I was afraid if I was mistaken—was it a tear, or was it a sweat?
The sight of him that way crushed me—I had never seen a guy tearing up so handsomely yet so surreal. "Don't leave me too..." then within a few seconds, his body tilted to the side, slowly and fell in the water with a loud splash.
"Kim Seokjin!"
I stood up and ran towards him. He was unconscious under the water, so I had to drag him to shore even though he was heavy. "Wake up, yah!" it was as if karma had kissed me in the face.
I tried slapping his face and humping his chest yet he wasn't waking up. "Kim Seokjin! I beg you to wake up!" I cried out loud while punching his chest. I looked around the beach just to find anyone to help.
Funnily that no one, I repeat, no one was there—where did the people go?
I pinched his nose and closed my eyes shut before I leaned in to give him a CPR. I did it a few times until I realised that his lips were lifting up like a smile. I released my lips quickly and shot my eyes open to look at him.
His eyes were still closed yet his teeth showed how alive he was.
"YAH, KIM SEOKJIN!"
He laughed out loud while his hands around his stomach. "I can't believe you just gave a direct kiss to me—" I slapped his chest and rolled his body over the sand.
"I was saving your fat ass!" I stood up and kicked his butt before I walked away furiously.
"YAH, WENDY! I'm sorry,"
—
"I'm not talking to you," I diverted my eyes from him. I glared at the window with a stern face on my face.
He sighed heavily and turned on the radio as a familiar song played keeping us noisy. He tapped on the steering-wheel while humming the song. A few seconds later, he began to sing. "I just heard you found the one, you've been looking...you've been looking for. I wish I would have known that wasn't me...cause even after all this time, I still I wonder, why I can't move on, just the way you did so easily..."
"Shut up."
"Okay..."
The car was back to silent as he was driving and I was, well, busy regretting. I kept on cursing myself in my head and I wanted so bad to hit myself with a sledgehammer for pulling a prank and for giving him a cardiopulmonary resuscitation because he thought I was planning to kiss him?!
"I'm sorry Wendy but," he said before adjusting his seat to sing out loud. "We don't talk anymore! We don't talk anymore! Wendy, we don't talk anymore like we used to do!" he stopped the car as we were in the middle of the road with no cars in between us. "I'm sorry okay, but you were hiding under a freaking rock and I had to at least act as if I collapse just to make you go out!"
I turned to face him and glared him deadly. "You could've open your eyes before I gave you a CPR!" I rolled my eyes in irritation which he just laughed it off.
"Well, what's so bad at kissing a friend?"
"I wasn't kissing you for fuck sake!"
He leaned closer as we were merely apart. "I bet you wanted to kiss me anyway," he smirked before ruffling my hair.
So I leaned in a little more. "I think you wanted to kiss me since you weren't even opening your damn eyes!" I scrunched my nose in disgust. "Freak!" and without myself knowing, unconsciously I licked his nose.
Surprisingly he just shut his eyes with a forced smile. "Oh Wendy," he muttered before he opened his eyes. "Wasn't kissing enough for you?" he asked. He bit his lower lips and held my cheeks to lean in closer.
We were so close that I could feel his warm breath against my face. I gazed into his eyes and those eyes just made my heartbeat pounded faster.
However, my heart stopped when he tilted his head to let his tongue touches my face. After he released his hands, he smiled lopsidedly in satisfaction. "How was that?"
"I hate you—"
"No you don't. You kissed me and you even kissed me in a puppy way..."
"I wasn't kissing you!"
