The darkness and the freezing temperatures seemed to close in on the twins.
It was two days after they escaped the Galra. Kipper and Skipper wrapped their cloaks around themselves tightly, crouched in the back corner of a Galra weapon barrack. They had come to the camp the day before.
They were tired.
Hungry.
Exausted. It was a lot to handle for two twelve year-olds.
But they were the Shadows. Trained by Haggar herself.
Nothing could be too much for them to handle.
Skipper nibbled on a hard biscuit she found in the camp's kitchen trash. She had split it with her brother.
"Keep moving!"
Hearing the voice, the twins quickly receded into the dark, out of sight.
A soldier appeared at the far entrance of the barrack.
"We need more conductors!", he barked.
"I'm tired of getting electrocuted by this little monster!""Little monster?", Kipper whispered to his sister.
The two held hands and ran along the wall, following behind the officer and his lackeys.
The officer led them inside of a tall building, with sharp pipes and wires everywhere along the walls and ceilings.
"C'mon you sissys!", he shouted violently, "Haggar wants this finished in three days time, or we all go to the Gladiator!"
Skipper pulled Kipper across the floor to a steel box.
Electricity ran along its surface, theorizing that whatever inside it was powering the building. With a grunt, while nobody was looking, the twins heaved the lid off of the box, ignoring the shocking pain coming from it.
A laugh gurgled from inside.
Peering over the edge with dark eyes, the twins looked upon a little face swaddled in a blanket.
Wide shining black eyes and a toothy grin looked back at them.
A little girl, a toddler in fact, with little black pigtails and flushed cheeks cradled the black blanket she held. She looked no more than two.
On the side of the box, "Druid Experiment #3" was engraved.
Skipper looked at her in awe.
Kipper beamed.
"Hello!", he whispered cheerfully.
He held his hand out, and the little girl grabbed it.He reeled back with an "ow!", and Skipper noticed the sparks flying from the little girl's hands.
The little girl was the one powering the building operations.
Kipper looked at Skipper in delight.
"It's a baby!", he whispered excitedly, "Do you know what this means?"Skipper shook her head.
"I'm a big brother! And you're a big sister!"
Skipper looked at the little girl.
The little girl giggled and waved at the two.
The hybrid twins grinned from ear to ear.
"What should her name be?", Skipper asked her brother, "I don't think she has one."
Kipper looked at the toddler thoughtfully.
The little girl bounced happily, tightly hugging her blanket as she giggled at her older siblings.
Kipper wagged his finger at her.
"Well, aren't you a delight?""Delight...", Skipper pondered.
She punched her brother in the arm.
"What about Delilah?!"Kipper nodded happily.
"Delilah is perfect!"They both looked at the girl.
"Hello Delilah DiNicolo!", they greeted.
Delilah giggled.
"Hiiiii!", she grinned.
