A new side of Skipper showed now that her brother was there. It was as if something was missing. But now it's there. She was smiling and laughing. It was amazing to see, rather then her usual macabre self.
But it made Hunk overthink things.
What if she didn't want his company anymore?
She had her twin brother now.
She didn't need Hunk.
She never did need me...
Why am I moping? I just realized my feelings, and I'm acting like it's the end of the world.
But I guess when the universe's prettiest girl indirectly rejects you, you have a right to mope.
Starlin and Lance flanked his left side.
"Hunk, you're pining again", said the princess bluntly.
"What?", Hunk and Lance said at the same time.
Starlin brushed her bangs out of her face and smirked at Hunk.
"Oh, he knows quite well what I'm talking about. He's the utter definition of pining."
"Who's pining?"
Hunk jumped as Kipper appeared out of nowhere beside him. For some reason, DiNicolos had a bad habit of sneaking around.
"Nothing", Hunk told him quickly. Starlin swiftly debunked his statement.
"Hunk has feelings for Sopheline."
The Yellow Paladin flinched involuntarily when Kipper's face darkened. A shadow of dark pasts and violence was cast upon his face.
But just as soon as it came, the shadow lifted and Kipper beamed.
He's just as unpredictable as his sister.
"Ooooh, really?", the male twin grinned.
Hunk was confused.
"You're... Okay with it?"
The male twin rested a hand on Hunk's shoulder.
"Listen. I might've been gone for quite a bit, but I know her. She's quite the introvert. On the outside, she's a steel-hearted killer. But my sister is actually a soft girl who has problems with anxiety and making friends. And her mood swings cause her to push herself away more. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but if you can win Skipper over, then in Zarkon's name you are the most persistent guy I've met."
"Awe, Hunk is growing up", Lance snickered. The Blue Paladin pretended to wipe away an invisible tear.
Hunk chuckled.
If I can win her over...
How do you win someone over?
Piflin and Skipper caught up with them. Piflin looked satisfied, since he found a restroom apparently.
Then Starlin froze.
Her gaze glassed over.
Skipper and Lance quickly grabbed her shoulder for support.
"Star, what's wrong?", Lance asked his girlfriend urgently.
She stared off, her consciousness deep in the astral plane.
Then she muttered a single word.
A word that drove fear into everyone's hearts.
