It was fairly late when they arrived the next day to their home.
Evelyn hadn't spoken more than 3 words since they crossed the borderline but Paul didn't question her behavior cuz he knew what was going on inside her mind
She opened her door and slowly got out before she walked up the pathway and up the 2 stairs in front of the house and opened the front door, leaving it open for her dad who was following with the bags
When Stephanie saw Evelyn's face, she didn't say anything, for fear of making it worse and Evelyn will tell her eventually what happened, plus she could get Paul to tell her.
Evelyn didn't look at anyone or anything, she just kept her eyes focused on her feet as the soft pitter-patter of when they hit the stairs filled everyone's ears
The next sound, was her room door closing softly
Stephanie looked to Paul as he walked through the doors. He sat down with her and began telling her everything
Stephanie gasped as Paul got up and went to get ready for service
Stephanie felt horrible and went upstairs to Evelyn's room seeing her in her crusade dress, clutching a picture frame
As Stephanie neared her, she caught the picture

Evelyn sniffled and rubbed her thumb over Dean's face
"Baby?" Steph called
Evelyn froze and quickly wiped her cheeks before she turned and gave her mom a smile
"Yeah?" She asked standing up

"I heard what happened, are you okay?" Stephanie asked walking closer to her daughter
Evelyn sighed and nodded
"Let's just go to church," she said
Stephanie sighed
"But you know if you ever need to talk, I'm here." Stephanie said rubbing her back
Evelyn nodded and smiled
Then they left to go to church and she couldn't stop looking at the locket
