"Oh Castiel," Castiel's mother, Naomi, said, "please do try to be kind to Dean." Castiel folded his arms, sticking his lips out in a pout and refusing to look at the other boy. "He had to take a very long journey to get here, you know. All the way from Lawrence."
"I don't care where he comes from. I want him gone, mother." She gave him a pained look.
"Just talk to him. For me." His frown softened, for he had always had a soft spot for his mother.
"Fine." He huffed petulantly. She smiled at him and took his hand, leading him over to the other prince. The green eyed boy smiled brightly at him.
"Hi! I'm Dean!" Castiel flinched at his volume, refusing to look at him still.
"Yes. I know who you are." Castiel's mother nudged him.
"Well, aren't you going to introduce yourself?" She said kindly, smiling over at Dean. Castiel sighed explosively and held his hand out for Dean to shake.
"My name is Castiel." He said slowly. Dean shook his hand enthusiastically. Castiel's mother smiled widely.
"Now that you two are acquainted, I fear I have some business to attend to with your fathers." Castiel glared at her and leaned in to whisper into her ear.
"Don't leave me with him." He hissed, pointing over at a clueless Dean.
"Don't be so rude, Castiel. I'm sure you two will get along swimmingly." And with that she left, leaving the two 6 year old princes alone with each other.
"So..." Dean started, dragging out the word into several syllables, "you guys have horses?" Castiel sighed again.

"Cas! Play with meeeeee. I'm boooored!" Dean whined, laying his head on the other boy's shoulder. Castiel shrugged him off, burying his nose further into his book.
"How many times have I told you to stop calling me that?" He muttered, his voice muffled by the pages. Dean rolled his eyes and snatched the book from Cas' hands. "Hey! I was reading that!" Cas objected, reaching for the book only to have it pulled out of his reach by Dean, who was taller and bigger than him.
"Give it back, Dean!" Dean laughed and ducked as Cas lunged for him.
"You'll have to chase me for it!" Dean yelled, and ran out of the library and into the courtyard, despite Castiel's protests.
Now Dean was being chased through the garden by a very angry Castiel, and he smirked when he saw a fountain up ahead. With surprising agility, Dean leapt up to the rim of the fountain and held the book over the water.
Castiel stopped and stared at him in a mixture of anger and shock. "You wouldn't."
Dean smirked and wiggled the book a little. "Oh but I would." He looked up and tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Unless..." he trailed off, moving his eyes back down to Castiel again, smiling cockily, "you'd be willing to become my friend."
Castiel huffed and looked away, crossing his arms. "Never." Dean shrugged.
"Oh well..." and he made a move to drop it in.
"Wait!" Dean smirked and looked up at him. "That book is priceless! My father would have my head if it were to be destroyed."
"That's a real shame." Dean said tauntingly, waving the book over the water again.
"Fine," Castiel said huffily.
