Hiccup POV
"I told you to not to do that, didn't I?" I glared at everyone as they just stared at the scars on my back. I felt naked under their eyes and I turned around, the scars and tattoo hidden from their sight. This is why I don't dress in front of people. No one had to know about my scars. And how I got them.
"Where did you get those scars and tattoos?" I snorted, feeling Toothless behind me, poking at me. I stroked Toothless, smiling that I was okay. He knew that I didn't like anyone to see my scars. I looked back at Stoick, expectant of my response. I let out a scoff, crossing my arms in nonchalance. Scars will be scars, no matter how it's made. And I'm not willing to reveal all the secrets to my past.
"You know, the usual. I get captured, demanded to know my secrets, I say no, tortured, but I'm fine." I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly. I looked at Stoick with an indifferent expression. "They couldn't break me."
"The tattoos, I guess, helped cover the scars, plus I like them. It kind of marks how my life went. Makes me look cool, don't you think?" No one said anything. I guess Hiccup the Useless actually having scars and tattoos leave people speechless. Plus, if I still lived with dad, he wouldn't have let me get those tattoos. The perks of being alone. Still, it was disturbing how not a word has been passed and everyone was still staring at me. After two or three times, the staring act just gets old. I shivered as the wind blew, making my bare chest freezing.
"Are you guys are just gonna stare at me or can I have a shirt?" Hiccup said sarcastically. This time, Gobber reacted, running to the village to get me a shirt as well as Gothi for medical attention. I leaned back on Toothless, in which we both stared at Stoick and the gang with a raise of an eyebrow. Is anyone gonna say something? I might've been living with dragons for three years, but that doesn't mean my life was spent with no words or noise. I winced when Toothless licked my broken ribs. I can hear the rumble of laughter coming from the black reptile, making me scowl in response.
"Yeah Yeah Toothless, laugh it up." That just made Toothless wiggle his eyes and laughed at my expense. Thank you for caring you useless reptile.
"So have you made your decision?" I snapped back to stare at Stoick. After a moment, I nodded stiffly and dad let out a visible sigh of relief. However, I was still mad. I may decide to stay, but they haven't apologized for their actions today.
"But while I'm here, no one is gonna kill a dragon." I said coldly with a glare. Dad and the gang became pale but nodded stiffly. I took that as confirmation as a silent apology and nodded in confirmation. Luckily, Gobber came back with a shirt and Gothi. A very angry Gothi. I can only smile sheepishly as Gothi waved her staff haphazardly, glaring as she furiously dig through the dirt.
"Do you know what healing and rest is?!" I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly and nodded. Gothi just stared and frowned as she saw my worsened injuries. She gestured for me to sit down and she undo the bandages and wrapping new ones. I winced as she slathered over medical paste on the ribs. Toothless was hovering over me, his eyes curiously overseeing the process. Gothi pushed his head away, making him snort in frustration, but he made do in sitting next to me.
"Did Gothi knew you were alive?" Gothi solemnly looked at Stoick and turned to me if She should answer. I just nodded, causing Gothi to nod as well. "It was more like she found me."
"Who else know--" A murmur of noise can be heard in the village, making Stoick stop and turn questioningly. I was curious. I thanked Gothi for her care, resulting to a smack atop the head with her staff. Stoick turned around, I bet to tell me he was going to check it out. Before he can say anything, I just gestured him to leave. "I'm coming too."
Stoick just nodded stoically and went off quickly toward the village. I quickly donned a shirt and gestured to the mother dragon of my departure , nodding her response. I followed after the source of the commotion, Toothless hot on my trail. There was a ship docked in the port and I recognized it as Trader Johan due to the sails. He was talking animatedly with the Vikings, most likely telling a crazy story. He was the only other besides Gothi and a few others who knew of my existence. You can imagine Trader Johan's surprise when he saw me on Toothless the first time. I stepped on the ship, nodding at Trader Johan, who brighten when he saw me.
