Astrid POV

"Good morning." I groaned loudly at this intruding voice. What the Thor?! I opened my eyes tiredly, waiting for the blurriness in my vision to settle. I wasn't surprised to figure out it was Hiccup, already dressed in his suit, his always trustworthy Toothless by his side. I looked out the open window only to see the sun barely up, the sky a murky blue. It was so early and yet he dares to wake me up at this godly hour.

"Ughh-- Shut up!" Hiccup chuckled and I scoffed in response before pulling on my covers over me more securely and closing my eyes. A few hours wouldn't hurt anybody. Little did I know, Hiccup and Toothless exchanged a look and smirked mischievously. I was so unprepared of what happened next.

Hiccup POV

"You're the devil, you know that?" I ignored it, just smiling to myself. It wasn't my fault that they wouldn't wake up. I played nice for a few minutes, just repeating it one more time, but they all still refused, calling me crazy to wake them up at this early of an hour. I rolled my eyes at their laziness. The nice way didn't work obviously, so I switched methods. Cold water to the face always did the trick.

"C'mon. Waking up at dawn is not that bad." I should know. I always wake up to the rise of the sun just fine. But it could just be due that Toothless always did like his morning flights, never giving me a break as he wakes me up with a slobbery lick to the face.

"Says the early bird himself." Astrid scoffed, her hands crossed in stubbornness. I chuckled, silently admitting to myself that she was a little right.

"Well, we only got one day to find all of you a dragon you know." On cue, everyone started chattering excitedly.

"Really?!" The twins said excitedly to each other.  "Cool!"

"Wait-- are you sure we're ready?" Fishlegs stammered nervously, his head deep into my book, hoping to find instructions on how to train a dragon. I chuckled as we were finally outside the Heart, the sunlight slowly getting brighter.

"I believe in learning on the job." I joked, remembering the first words that Gobber had said when he was teaching us. Sure, it was for killing dragons, but the expression still applies.

"Where's Chief and Gobber?" Astrid said curiously. I shrugged nonchalantly.

"Gobber's at the forge," I remember Gobber and Stoick already awake as I landed on the balcony after the morning flight. Gobber greeted me eagerly, giving me a tight hug before announcing that he wants to go to the forge. He proclaimed that he wanted to-- his words, not mine-- "tamper with your doohickeys and what's-its". I hesitated before saying Stoick's whereabouts.  "Stoick's with Kronos."

I don't know why Kronos would ask for dad. That green dragon just smiled before asking me to get my father. I just prayed that they won't fight. After all, Kronos is slightly bitter after knowing that I will be staying in  Berk for a few months. The gang and I were inside the forests behind the Heart and I stopped, choosing to rest on a flat rock beside Toothless. I sighed at the comforting sun on my skin, just relishing in it. After a while, I heard a cough and opened one eye questioningly.

"So....what do we do?", Astrid said sheepishly. I raised an eyebrow and made a dismissive gesture.

"Find your dragon." They were hesitant to leave and I rolled my eyes. "Go. Toothless and I will wait here."

After a while, they left in different directions, looking for their dragon. After they all dispersed, I sighed in relief and laid down on the rock. Toothless proceeded to lie down as well, curling around me. Now a good well-deserved nap is in order.
