Hiccup POV
I winced at the sound of screaming, shielding my ears from the high pitch. I turned to see everyone standing there. It was utter chaos. Heather and Dagur are laughing at the Vikings that were currently screaming and pointing at Kronos. To make matters worse, the baby dragons decided to follow suit with the noise. Kronos and I started at each other, where the damn dragon's eyes was filling with amusement every passing second and mine filling with annoyance. I sighed, running my hands through my wet-slick hair. I breathed in for as long as I could and yelled.
"QUIET!", I shouted. Everyone froze and said nothing, just merely staring at me. My eyebrows were furrowed, a scowl on my face as my hands was also on my hips. Before I can say anything, Kronos poured more water on my body, making Toothless laugh at my expense. I blew my wet hair from my eyes, giving a sarcastic look to Toothless.
"Hi-c-c-cup, who is th-that?", Astrid said while shakily pointing at Kronos. Kronos, in turn, nodded slightly toward them in greeting.
"Everyone meet Kronos, Alpha of the Heart. Kronos, meet everyone.", I said, wiping the water from my eyes. I gestured to each other quickly before getting my shirt and wiping myself dry.
"Hey, you didn't introduce us properly!" Astrid said irritatedly. I was about to retort but Kronos beat me to the punchline.
It's quite alright. I know your names already. They screamed. again. Oh, God. If they keep screaming, I fear for my hearing.
"WHO SAID THAT?!" I didn't say anything. I just calmly oversaw the situation in front of me. the gang except Astrid were looking frantically for the source of the sound. Dagur was just ignoring the situation and embracing the baby dragons. Heather's response worried me because her green eyes were staring at me intensely. More specifically, the bandages on my ribs.
The people you brought are jumpy, aren't they? Kronos stated warmly. I rolled my eyes. That is an understatement.
"You can say that again," I said while knocking a fist to my forehead in emphasis. I froze, realizing that everyone was staring at me.
"What?" Their eyes shifted to my naked chest, wet hair, wet everything, I guess. I'm just lucky that I wore my pants still.
"Ohhhhh. Toothless pushed me into the water." I glanced at Toothless with dead eyes. Of course, he ignored them, giving me a cheeky grin.
"Why do you have bandages, Hiccup?" I jumped at Heather's chilling voice. I gave her the most pleasant smile I can muster, ignoring the sweat drop that dripped down my forehead. You would think that there is nothing that I would be afraid of. You would be dead wrong. Heather terrifies me.
"It's nothing, Heather. Just a couple of broken ribs. I'm fine." Heather said nothing, letting me hope that she was becoming calm about the whole situation. I was naive.
"FINE?! Why didn't you tell us?!" I winced at her screeching voice, making me sigh. I contemplated on what to say. It was difficult to string a response that wouldn't just make Heather even more aggravated. Behind her, I can see Dagur making a cross with his hands and shaking his head desperately. Toothless was just looking at me with mirth and amusement. Sometimes I ask myself why I saved him.
"I forgot." Heather's eyes narrowed, making me step back cautiously. She slowly walked toward me and I did the opposite. However, I realized that I was still on the lake and only have a few more steps before I plummet deep into the dark depths. All I could do was just brace myself for whatever Heather was planning to do. I wasn't ready at all. This girl punched me deep into the gut, right where the bandages were. Luckily, I bathed in the lake. It had healing properties from who-knows-what; though I know that it had something to do with Kronos. He just won't tell me. That old crone. Still, Heather's punches always hurts like Thor's hammer.
