Astrid POV
At this moment, I'm wondering why I'm on a ship out to sea while Hiccup and his friends are flying ahead. Well, first I have to be reminded of the surprise to hear yelling first thing in the morning. I jumped off my bed and out of the cottage with my ax only to see two dragon riders circling the center of the village. I squinted to make out of the two riders, one a girl and one a boy. They were yelling out Hiccup's name-not a surprise- as they were one of the few dragon riders we've seen besides Hiccup. They looked strong, especially the guy. I walked closer to them, only to realize that the guy was Dagur. His red hair and the crazy look in his eye make me certain. However, it has been two years since we last saw him when the Berserker Tribe collapsed after the death of his father. The girl was someone I didn't recognize. But she looked as equally as strong as Dagur with her stern eyes and confident stance as she stood up, looking down. Our eyes met and she didn't make any expression before she gripped her weapon behind her. She showed no obvious hostility, but her eyes burned a silent type of rage toward us. What kind of people did Hiccup bring?
It was only moments until Hiccup came flying to the village, landing gently on the ground with Toothless on the side. He looked like he just woken up due to the bed hair and the yawns. He shaded his eyes to look at the riders and rolled them, a clear indication that he knew these people. He nudged Toothless, who proceeded to let out a loud roar. Everyone muffled their ears as the high sound rings throughout the village, making both of the trespassers to turn around. Their tense expressions relaxed when they saw Hiccup and they eagerly hugged him, relief clear on their faces. You can see they are close.
My grips tightened when I saw the girl hug Hiccup, feeling that pang of jealousy. I made sure to not show it as Dagur also pulled them both into a hug. They looked happy.
Hiccup looked happy.
Hiccup introduced the girl as Heather as Dagur's long-lost sister and I can tell that this girl was smarter and true to her Berserker blood as I can see in her eyes a strong ambition and a recklessness similar to Dagur. However, she was much calmer and a bitter person when she addressed Stoick. I guess Hiccup told her about his past.
And now here we are, on a ship to Hiccup's supposed home. It was a surprise when Heather and Dagur informed Hiccup he needed to go back home. He promised to stay in Berk, though! I saw Hiccup nod his head with compliance and scratched his chin, thinking of something. Of course, we won't let Hiccup go now that we have found him! So when Stoick said that he can go on the condition that he comes along, I jumped at the chance as well. And that what brings us here with the gang, Stoick and Gobber on the trip toward Hiccup's place.
The three riders landed on the ship, making me turn toward them. Hiccup stepped on the deck, sitting at the helm, looking ahead. The sibling pair just watched behind Hiccup, leaning against their dragons. Heather separated from her brother, looking back at us briefly before climbing up the sails and hanging on the post. She stared to the sea, looking into the horizon. Her eyes held a faraway look, ignoring her surroundings. They were similar to Hiccup's eyes in a way.
"Your name's Heather right?" I rolled my eyes at Snotlout's antics, cringing at his poor attempt of a flirty attitude. She looked down at Snotlout with a curious glance, dropping herself down in front of him. She slowly stood up, looking at Snotlout straight in the face.
"Yes, it is." She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. She looked annoyed. "What of it?"
"Nothing just wanted to talk. Did anyone tell you that you look stunning?" She raised an eyebrow before giving a stifled chuckle.
"Aren't you hilarious?"She gave a shrug of her shoulders before shaking her head. She turned around, leaving us. "But I'm not interested."
"Are you sure? You'll regret it!" She stopped, her eyes looking over her shoulder. She slowly turned around with an amused smile.
